About Proraso
Born in the 1920s in beautiful Florence where the products are still made, Proraso has loyally served three generations of well-groomed men. Today it enjoys the reputation as Italy’s most venerable barber shop shaving brand. For eighty years Proraso has guarded its secret formula based on Eucalyptus Oil and, in a way that only a small family owned Italian business can, the recipe has been passed down from one generation to the next.
Mr David Cunniffe –
I normally use soap but when I’m in a hurry Proraso shaving cream is a must. I just soak the brush in warm water for 30 seconds, shake off the excess and spread a small amount of cream on the brush tips. Wet my face with warm water and lather on my face. The Proraso cream makes a great lather in double quick time. The smell is a classic strong sandalwood, not the odd smell you get from TOBS sandalwood. The lather is rich, creamy and doesn’t dry out. If you like a quality shaving cream which is easy to use with a great smell this is the one for you.

Another great Proraso product. I think the scent is more subtle than the blue or green. It’s really easy to get a great lather from a small amount and leaves the skin feeling smooth after a shave. GBP6 for a great product is a steal

This stuff is brilliant, so moisturizing and has a lovely mild scent. Having tried all the Proraso creams now I can safely say this one is the best outta them all!

I’ve tried a few creams and soaps now. I will buy Proraso again. It performs really well and has a great scent. The packaging and tube itself have a classic appearance, reminiscent of those 1950’s Italian barber shops, which also looks great on the bathroom shelf. A really good product that is fantastic value for money. I’ve found my brand.

My first proper shaving cream and works fine as far as i can see, lathers up easy and smell is ok, not amazing though! Cheap price and good for a starter i think.

I have a coarser beard and sensitive skin and find this to be the best Proraso shaving cream or soap. Both the classic (green) and sensitive (white) lines are too mentholated for me and the blue is just not my type of scent. The red has a clean soapy smell with a hint of sandalwood (from real Indian Sandalwood oil). It’s an elegant scent.on top of that the retro packaging is very cool and I prefer a metal tube to a plastic one.
As for the shaving with it, this product lathers very well and easily. I find it to be the richest lather of the Proraso range and the skin conditioning properties are good. It contains a few too many artificial ingredients for my taste but more cannot be expected at this price. Thee are certainly better products out there, but they also cost more (often a lot more). All in all an excellent choice for starting out and you may never feel the need to change.

Smooth and easy, lathers quite nicely. Tube is handy for adding cream to brush. Smell is mild and pleasant. Good product for good price, works nicely for everyday use.
