A stunning double edge razor that travels well!

New for 2018 and selling fast, this fantastic chrome plated double edge razor from Hill and Drew features a twist-to-open butterfly mechanism to make blade changing easy and safe. Made from a durable rust-resistant Zinc Alloy, this razor is built to last.

Its slim head provides great maneuverability and can reach those hard to access areas like under the nose. The micro comb edge helps reduce the pull of the beard to give a smoother mild to medium aggressive shave. Furthermore, the head covers the side edges of the razor blade, often exposed in other razors, making less chance of scratching yourself during the shave.

The elegant knurling on the handle provides plenty of grip and, coupled with the superb chrome plating, will look great in any bathroom.

The durable travel size plastic case, sporting the fine Hill and Drew logo, provides protection for the razor and has a very useful compartment for storing double edge razor blades. The handy framed mirror enclosed in the lid adds to its travel credentials.

All in, the Hill and Drew HDRB40 is an affordable and stylish luxury razor that is ideal for travelling and will make the perfect birthday, Christmas or Father???s Day present.

  1. Mr Omer Loonat

I bought this on a whim to add to my growing collection of safety razors. I’m very happy with this purchase. The quality of the razor is excellent as is the shave it gives. With a sharp blade I found it a little too aggressive and was left with a few nicks. For me it seems to be best matched with a slightly duller blade like a Derby Extra.

I’m still a beginner and it’s mild enough to use now and probably later down the line as well when I could even (if I dare to) use it with something like a Feather blade!

  2. Ms Elaine Sanders

Bought this for my sister because she saw that DE shaving improved my skin & saved money. She loves this razor, especially the handle. Changing blades is very easy and quick. The box is great for travelling.

  3. Mr Price

This was my first venture into DE shaving. I can only say that propriety blades for branded companies have been conning us for years. I’ve never had to shave so little after using this razor. Someone suggested using Derby Extra and I’d already bought those blades as I’d read they were less aggressive. So good for me and I’ve not cut myself once. If you’ve not tried it before I suggest getting one of these, you may find it face or leg changing.

  4. Mr Ben Harper

Stunning looking razor, room in the travel case for a pack of 5 blades. Doesn’t hold the feather plastic box so you’ll have to put them in separate, but takes a Gillette 7o’clock box. Mechanism is smooth and locks up tight with no movement. Blade corners and sides are not exposed which I love, hard to cut yourself. Cuts smooth and is well balanced. Fun to use, my second razor to a muhle R89. This one has nice blade changes but is harder to clean.

  5. Mr Martin Conley

My main razor is a Merkur 34C, a razor I’m very happy with. I bought this Hill and Drew HDRB40 as a razor to take when I’m away. I thought as it’s a third of the price of the Merkur, if it got lost or left by accident it’s not as bigger loss. Well, this razor is performing above its price tag. Nice weight, size and feel to it. It was comfortable to use. 1st use out of the box I felt confidence in it’s performance. This is a great razor and at this price, it is well worth it.

  6. Edward

I was looking for the first DE Razor as the cost of cartridge razor was getting out of hand, saw this recommendation on shaving shack and thought to give this a try. This razor is light, easy to to put in DE blades in and remove the blade. I found I do not need to put a lot of pressure and easy to clean after a shave. I would recommend to use this to get used to shaving.

  7. Mr William Foster

Very pleased with my purchase. This my first DE razor. It has a good feel in the hand and is easy to use. Much better shave than any cartridge razor I have had. Skin felt smooth afterwards - less irritation. Secondary to the quality of the shave is that it is also very cheap.

  8. Mr Paul Cornford

Great product and excellent value. Travel box with mirror is a bonus.

  9. Mr Daniel Dorsz

First DE razor here, I have been using straight and shavette so far, amazing experience, great shave, just bought another one of these for my dad. If you hesitate, dont ! but it !

  10. Mr w easter

Fantastic Value. I have used many de razors over my 70 years but this is the best value one.
The handle is a little short for my taste but as a travel razor its unbeatable.
Good quality finish and a case Wow

  11. Mr CARL BRANTON

Took advantage of the great price to buy one and wasnt disapointed, I read previous reviews about it maybe been a bit keen so tried it with a Derby blade, no problems there, will try it with a Feather next. Comes in a nice little case idea for the wash bag. Would recommend for beginners or experienced alike.

  12. Zahir @ the shaving shack

This was my first purchase on the Shaving Shack. I was a little apprehensive at first, as I have never used a DE (double edged) safety. I was really excited to receive my order today and to try this smart looking razor. I must say I have been really impressed with my new purchase! The razor has a good weight to it and the travel case is really useful too. I will most definitely not go back to the traditional cartridges. Finally, I decided to order the Feather blades which I am happy with. I may try other blades in the future, but for now I will continue to perfect my shave. 🙂

  13. Mr Noel Jealous

I’m very happy with this. It’s on the mild side and it’s forgiving. I had a superb shave using a Treet Platinum blade. I couldn’t get a good shave with a Supermax, but that isn’t surprising. I have yet to find a razor which suits that blade.
This could be my every day razor, and especially when I’m pushed for time.
Good razor, good price. Nothing negative to say about it.

    Excellent

  15. Miss Natalie TUCKWELL (verified owner)

I’m a woman and found this razor great in reducing plastic waste. Other razors on the market targeted at women are at least 2x the price, pink, and come with an annoying subscription model for blades. The (purchased separately) Japanese Feather blades stay sharper for weeks longer, and I bought the disposable tin for blades to save anyone getting cut at the recycling centre.

It was easy to use once I worked out that you twist the end to open the top. I gave one to my 16-year old neice to give her a lifetime of not buying little plastic razors for underarm hair and legs. It’s not scary to use, but take it easy over knees till you work out the best angle to hold it at.
