The world’s manliest shaving cream, The Bluebeards Revenge™, has picked up even more positive press.

Leading UK style blog The Fashion Guide was full of praise for the luxurious shaving cream, and especially its unique and cool packaging.

“The first thing we noticed when we received our pot is the packaging – this is going to look impressive on your bathroom shelf. A retro style pot with a silver lid, then a vivid blue label with skull and cross bone graphics – visitors just aren’t going to be able to help screwing off that lid to have a look and a sniff,” said the site.

The Bluebeards Revenge™ can combat tough stubble

The style blog was also impressed with the cream’s smell, describing it as “really, really good, clean and sexy”, adding that “you may have to put up with some neck nuzzling I’m afraid”.

The Fashion Guide then tested the feel of the cream and did not come away disappointed.

“It’s rich, it’s smooth, and it’s creamy,” they said. “A small amount in the palm of the hand lathered up really well and went on smoothly with great coverage.”

But what about the quality of the actual shave? Well The Bluebeards Revenge™ did not fail to please; with the site claiming it provided a “great, smooth shave”.

The premium shaving cream was praised for its “amazing lather” and moisturising qualities.

The Bluebeards Revenge™ vegetarian and cruelty-free shaving cream creates an amazing lather that is luxe and creamy and doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve been dowsed by a fire extinguisher,” said reviewer Oliver Ravela.

The cream was praised for its 'amazing lather'

He added: “As someone with sensitive skin, I’m appreciative of the moisturizers and various other emollients designed to reduce irritation.

Battle of The Titans: The Bluebeards Revenge vs The King of Shaves

The Bluebeards Revenge™ has come out on top in a fierce battle with King of Shaves’ Woman Smooth and Sensitive Shaving Gel.

Jenny Hayden, from leading fashion and style website The Style PA, compared the effectiveness of both of these popular products.

“I may not have a beard, but I’ve got two legs, so I used the girl’s shaving gel on my left side and the men’s shaving cream on my right,” explained Jenny.

And what did Jenny think? “The Bluebeards Revenge™ definitely gave a better result on the underarm and bikini area than the female marketed product, the difference was easy to see as well as feel,” she wrote.

”When it came to the legs I think the two were pretty much the same and both legs felt nice and smooth without feeling dry.

“Guys better watch out if they’ve bought this (The Bluebeards Revenge™) because it’s great for girls too.”

Jenny concluded her review by saying: “Overall, I have to say I preferred the men’s product. It’s not the first time I’ve used men’s shaving products either as they are designed to do the same job. When it comes down to it, pretty pink packaging is just there to catch the eye of a girly girl; it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the best product for you. Experimenting is the only way to know for sure.”

THE FINAL SCORES:

The Bluebeards Revenge™
Scent: 5/5

Jennifer Hudson admits she might shave her head

US singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is apparently contemplating a drastic style makeover by shaving off her hair.

The “Dreamgirls” beauty has sported long locks for the last couple of months but she admits she’s looking to revamp her look.

What would Jennifer look like bald? Photo by www.chicagofabulousblog.com

She recently told InStyle Makeover magazine: “I am actually thinking about shaving my head. Because I feel I’ve got a good (bone) structure.”

And Jennifer if you do decide to take the plunge, we would recommend trying the award-winning HeadBlade, as it’s the only razor in the world designed specifically for head shavers!

“What makes the HeadBlade so special is its ergonomic design. It sits in the palm of the hand, the loop rests just in front of the second knuckle on the middle finger, then the index and forefingers sit on the black rubber pads on either side of the loop,” says the manufacturer.

HeadBlade, the only razor in the world designed specifically for head shavers!

“This gives far more control over the blade than a face razor, thereby reducing the chance of cuts and nicks. By keeping the back pad in contact with the scalp the blade finds it’s own level to enable a smooth glide over the entire head.”

One of our luxurious shaving creams has been given a rave review by a respected American wet shaving expert.

Mike Sandoval, from leading wet shaving website Shaving101.com, was full of praise for The Cyril Salter Indian Sandalwood shaving cream.

The shaving guru started off his review by praising the cream for its soft texture, fine lather and subtle fragrance.

”Whether you lather directly on your face or in a bowl or scuttle, this cream this cream easily whips in to a rich and usable lather without having a tendency to get too thin or require an excessive amount of water to maintain its hydration,” he said.

Cyril Salter Luxury Shaving Cream (Indian Sandalwood 165g)

”The lather held a nice consistency throughout the shave and showed no issues of drying down between passes.

”I found this to be especially good for straight razor shaves, which take a bit longer due to the slower cutting technique.

”The result was a smooth shave that carried the blade easily over my skin and left my face feeling well protected and hydrated at the end of the shave.”

Mike concluded his review, by saying: “While not as exquisite in fragrance as some other shaving creams, Cyril R. Salter Indian Sandalwood shaving cream performs amazingly well given that it retails for a fraction of the price.”

The Cyril Salter Indian Sandalwood shaving cream (165g) retails for just £7.99 on the Shaving Shack website.

Due to the increasing popularity of double-edged razor shaving, many people who know little about this product are now curious as to why this is proving to be so “in demand”. The question this poses to these guys is: why would I want to change my shaving habits?

It is easy to get set in your ways when shaving or undertaking any other regular task. If you have been using an electric razor or Mach 3 blade for what seems like forever, you would be entitled to wonder why you should make a change now. In a previous article we looked at the cost factor which, while very important, is not the only reason to make the switch.

ferrari merkur Why would I want to change my shaving habits?

A Merkur is to razors as a Ferrari is to cars! (But without the cost)

For starters, double-edged shaving can be a luxurious process. Affordable it certainly is, but the sheer pleasure you get from your daily routine is unsurpassed, especially when you consider the chore it is to shave at present.

A number of men have simply had enough of the expensive multi-bladed systems and have decided to make the bold change themselves. Word of mouth certainly plays a part as guys tend to discuss these things when they are on holiday together or have just discovered something new and interesting.

You may be used to wet shaving already (Mach 3 users) or have a tried and trusted electric razor and so need an incentive other than money to alter your morning routine. Well, as you start to take the time to perfect your technique with a double-edged blade, you start to understand what all the fuss is about. You not only get a closer, smoother shave, but also start to enjoy the experience.

Double edge shaving offers affordable luxury (unlike this yacht!!!!)

The double-edged razor is becoming extremely popular again as the modern man starts to consider the way the older generation used to shave. Once people get hooked, these retro shaving products allow them to experiment with all the creams, soaps and brushes etc. which are also available. The accessories just serve to make this daily task even more pleasurable.

Double edge shaving offers 5-star luxury without having to leave the bathroom!!

Although double edge shaving is synonymous with luxury, amazingly it is inexpensive to get started. Once the initial kit has been acquired not only will you experience a better way of shaving, but you will save money too! With blades costing pennies and luxury creams that last months there is no reason not to indulge in this affordable luxury.

So, why not give it a try, break your old habits and brave this new world of traditional and luxurious shaving products; you never know, in time, you may even come to look forward to it!
