didn’t expect much about this product. but i bought just to try.. it surprise me! i putted on when i started bleading after my merkur futur did his job… I waited and then i washed over with water.. well it stopped bleading !! i works better, for me than alumen stick. and it’s even cheap (that is also important!!)

Im surprised to say that this thing actually work. I was a bit sceptical when I first bought it, but it does a really good job. Put it on and it will stop the bleeding instantly. 10 ml seems to last forever.

I have to admit that whilst I have bought a range of DE safety razors from Shave Shack this was one of my first purchase. I knew that it was inevitable that, at some time, things could go slightly adrift with my technique. Well after trying a Merkur Slant Razor tonight for the first time it did! Whilst I can freely admit that it was technique that left the cuts on my face (the technique on each razor is something to research, learn and embrace), it was satisfying that I had the Proraso Shave Cut Healing Gel at hand. I have DE shaved with a number in my rotation, but the Merkur Slant gave me the cuts that I have never experienced before – aside from the cuts though, it gave a truly fantastic shave and is something that it is worth progressing to perfect!
I followed my shave with the usual routine of the Alum Block, then the Proraso pre-shave cream and waited; unfortunately, it wasn’t that long before a significant amount of blood began to appear that the Alum block did not cure and it was time for the cavalry! Within seconds of applying the Proraso Shave Cut Healing Gel the cuts had gone and I was back to a sealed face – albeit with a raft of blood that was centered around the cut.
Do I truly recommend this product – yes, as it is my final cure to the problem of razor cuts. However, you should be aware that it does leave a blotch of blood mess over the nick that it is covering. Overall, if the worst happens, then NEVER be without the Proraso Shave Cut Healing Gel and the convenient size means that you can easily store one within you wash bag – just don’t expect it to leave you looking like you’ve got a 100% correct technique when things go wrong!

Bought this with my Parker shavette. Being totally new to straight shaving I had no doubt I was going to cut myself. First shave, 3 cuts. Applied this product and the bleeding stopped. Works great. You don’t even need to use a lot. Only a tiny bit for each cut to work its magic. I’m sure this will last me a very long time.

This product is a miracle! It is also much less painful than applying a styptic pencil, also much less hassle. With a styptic you have to wet, apply then rinse off any blood. This gel is apply and put it away. It seals the nick, stops pain and irritation. I gashed my lip quite bad and this sealed the cut in around a minute. Ill try it on a artery next time! 😉

I came across this by accident when looking through the Proraso range.
Until now I’d used a styptic pencil but this gel is far superior and seals first time every time so far.
Almost 12 months into DE shaving I still nick myself sometimes in those ackward areas.
Since purchasing I’ve used this on a couple of occasions and I have to say it’s excellent value for money.
Also being a gel in a tube it travels better than the styptic pencil is you’re on the go.

Excellent stuff. Teeny weeny tube BUT you only need the smallest amount to stop a bleed. Let it dry right up then wash it off. Works a charm, doesn’t sting at all like some alum blocks and styptic pencil. But it. Buy it now! NAOW!

This is a phenomenal product – how I got through my life of shaving without this is entirely beyond me.
A tiny spot of this is enough to sort out any accidental cuts and even some of the bigger ones are stemmed fairly easily with it. Does not sting particularly and lasts a long time. When it eventually runs out, I’ll certainly be buying more.

Unlike most of the other reviews, I was slightly disappointed with this gel. Yes, it will stop the bleeding if you nick yourself (and it does this well), but how often does this happen? Normally when I shave I get a couple of small nicks, small enough to stop bleeding on their own within a minute or so. Any nick larger (and therefore where the gel is really required), and the gel hardly stops the bleeding. Applying more of the gel, and the bleeding stops, but then the gel ‘crusts’, leaving a white patch on your skin.
In all, if you often cut yourself shaving, this might be a cheap solution that will do the job, but don’t expect miracles.

My favourite shaving tool is my Shaving Shack shavette, and generally when I have the time I have bloodless and superb shaves. However, once in a while, a nick, weeper, gash happens. I did used to use an alum block but I receieved this gel for Christmas and can’t praise it enough. I had to shave quickly, the reason is private, and a large-ish nick appeared. A quick dab of this gel and it was sorted almost immediately. Another Shaving Shack great!

As someone who has to take a asprin every day it means if I cut myself shaving it takes some time to stop the blead it’s no longer a problem now with this fantastic product just a very small amount stops the blead in seconds I can’t recommend this product enough

This stuff is excellent! Stops small cuts and nicks very quickly but leaves a white residue. Rather that than blood! Even worked on a thumb cut by a stanley knife! Great stuff. It stings but worth every penny.

Good for stopping deeper cuts, that the pencil can’t quite stop.
Stings a little and leaves a white film on the skin that can be washed off very easy, with water.
This stuff is more powerful than a Alum Block and lasts for a very long time because you only need a small amount, not even pea size.

I bought this to replace my styptic pencil and the gel is certainly more convenient but still leaves white residue in the affected area. Still it’s the best product I have found so far for the job.
