Author: William Halley An excellent way to find out which blade suits you and your razor. After trying all of them I've just ordered some more Derbys. I found them to give the most comfortable shave allied to my Gillette "Fatboy". The Feathers would be a close second but I found them more liable to leave a bit of razor burn ATG. Try this before you invest of if you like a wee change now and again!
Author: Giorgio Lando I ordered this sample pack together with my Merkur Futur. It is very useful to try different blades when you acquire a new razor, because each razor seems to require different degrees of smoothness and/or sharpness.
In my case, I have discovered that the Israeli Shaving Shack blades are perfect for the Futur (adjusted around 3) and I will order them again in the near future.
Author: Alexander Scott What a brilliant idea, I ordered these as I am new to DE shaving, and have now shaved with all three types. I prefer the feather blades, but the Derbys and Israelis ( also with these you get an extra shave before you replace the blade...But at these prices you could have a brand new blade each morning.)are good too. I will be ordering more blades in the very near future
Author: Simon W Great way to try which blades you like. The infamous Feathers were not as scary as I was lead to believe. Sharp, yes but pretty smooth too. However, after a few days use they seemed to start nicking me.
The Derby's were OK, nothing special. Would be happy to use regularly.
The SS blades were reasonably good. I could 'feel' the blade a bit more with these, they seem a bit thinner. Again, perfectly good and usable on a daily basis.
However, I did find the Gillette blades (purchased separately at the same time) to be my personal favourite. I would recommend trying this pack though to help you test which blades you prefer.
Author: Simon Parsons What a great way to 1) try different brands, and 2) get ages worth of blades in one go!
This is by far the cheapest way to try 3 different brands of DE blades, whilst at the same time getting a good stock. So far I'm liking the Israeli blades twinned with my Lord razor, but it's nice to change things now and then!
Author: David Jones Excellent idea, wasn't very impressed with the feathers, however the Israelis are superb as are the Derbys. Great way of trying some of the main blade manufacturers! Thanks guys!
