The Shaving Shack verified purchase.
Bought this as I have sensitive skin and was worried that DE shaving may be too harsh (oh how wrong I was to be worried). This oil is nice and light with a nice citrus smell and is a very welcome addition to my new DE shaving routine. Shaving is no longer a chore but a pleasure I look forward to. Thanks Shaving Shack!!

Smells Fantastic although fleeting.
I would not have purchased this myself of cost and size.
However Having Been to Truefitt & Hills own Barbers Shop while away for an Anniversary my good lady wife Purchased this for me after i Had A Traditional shave.
You Really do only need a little and even using more seams to make little difference. It does seam very light in its oiling of the face and for me personally i feel i get more lubrication from other facial oils.
Smells Great and makes you feel your treating yourself, however you can get cheaper oils that do more for me personally.
Oh Did i Mention it smells great i love the Citrus notes.

Add this oil before your cream for that extra cuhsioning between the blade. Very good if you have sensitive skin like me, it provides that extra easy glide. The smell is very subtle yet refershing, this oil isn't too heavy so it won't get in the way of your other products or razor. I find it keeps the skin hydrated even when your lather is on the verge of drying out. Well worth the money as it will last atleast a few months.

At first it looks a little expensive but considering that it only takes a couple of drops before you first lather up then it will last you a good few months. The oil is very light and doesn't appear to be clog up the razor. It has a gentle citrus aroma to it that adds to the pleasure of using it.

Although it works wonderfully well, I only use pre-shave oil before anything important when I don’t want to risk and skin troubles as it give the added benefit of skin protection.
This really does work and it could mean the difference between an average shave and an excellent one. A couple of drops applied and well rubbed in is all it takes. Some other brands on the market are really thick, nearly like a gel, and can lead to troubles with sticky brush hairs or residue on the razor head and sink but, as this one is fairly runny, as soon as it’s applied and well spread out, it’s like it was never there and you’ll have none on the above annoyances from thicker versions. The cushioning and protection is great though and, used sparingly as you should, it’ll last for months and months.

A lovely gentle citrus aroma that smells very natural. A few drops go a long way, so this bottle should last you at least six months and it wouldn't be hard to stretch it out for twelve months!
A very nice way to start your shave.

I have very dry and sensitive skin so did some research on what would be best pre/post shave. This seemed to come out top of the pre-shave gels/oils.
It is a very light oil with a gorgeous citrus aroma. A couple of drops before you lather up is all you need. I was slightly worried about the cost-but you use so little each time it should last.
Will definitely buy again in a few months when this one's gone.

If you get irritation at all during shaving then this is one of the bet ways to prevent this. At £16.99 its not the cheapest out there but its is a quality product. I have sensitive and easily irritated skin but since adding this to my shaving routine I've had very little of these problems. The bottle will last for sometime so it's very good value for money.

A premium product which justifies its price tag with ease. This is one of those items which will make your day feel better quality right from the off.
Your face feels protected and refreshed, and the sensation of the razor floating on a bed of oil beneath the lather adds a sense of security which encourages you to get the best shave you could achieve. A pleasure to use, thanks to Shaving-shack for making me aware of it, and as usual delivering it to me within 24 hours.

I just received this oil through the post, along with some citrus shaving cream, the bottle was smaller than I though it would be, but you only need a few drops of this stuff to smooth on your face pre-shave.
As other reviewers have said it does have a slight citrus scent, and helped to make the shave more smooth with less dragging and post-shave irritation.
5 stars and two thumbs up

Run out of my previous oil and have replaced it with this and I am very happy with the results. This is an excellent product and helped produced one of the best, easiest shaves I think I've ever had. Highly recommended.

I've used this for a few days now and it seems to be pretty good stuff. What I would say is that if you have the time to do a proper shave prep (hot shower, wash face, spend time lathering etc) then it's probably not essential. If like me, however, you often find yourself running a little late in the mornings then this stuff is great for making up for lack of prep time.
Perfect consistency (not thick and gooey like some others) and a lovely citrusy smell.
Fairly expensive for the size of the bottle but you don't need much and with occasional use (2-3 times a week) I foresee it lasting 6 months +.

A really excellent product. I am sure you will be wondering whether it is worth the price and I believe it certainly is. I use only 4 drops per shave, now these are only drops, not splashes. If you have been watching too many 1970s Brut adverts then it is only one small splash. I have been using it for 2 months and the oil level is not at the bottom of the neck yet, so I think it will last a year or so. I have tried using more drops but it seems to make little noticeable difference, so I stick with 4.
The oil is a light lemony oil, and is quite unlike others (mentioning no names but available in highstreet chemists) which can appear greasy and have to be washed off. There are comments on other oils that they reduce the lather but I have not found this to be the case with Trufitt & Hill using Taylors of Old Bond Street shaving cream (which I also think is fab). I think the oil makes for a smoother shave, but also it seems to significantly reduce the number of nicks I make which has also got to be good.
Using Trufitt & Hill leaves you refreshed, smooth, free of irritation and with less collateral damage. Great product. I will be buying again and giving as a present.

This stuff is excellent while I admit it's not the cheapest but it's worth every penny, i sometimes get a bit of razor burn but with this pre oil I can stay 100% burn free also the citrus scent is fantastic
