This is my first foray into double edged razors, after using various cartridge razors since I started to shave I thought I would take the plunge and seeing as it was part of a bundle and the price reduced from over £60 to £29, well why not. I love it, after being initially scared of the thought of running the razor across my face and ending up with a crime scene I was surprised on how easy it was to use, yes the first few shaves I nicked myself a few times but this was down to technique as opposed to the razor wanting to kill its owner. I have so far used it with the Isreali blades that the bundle came with, Derby and Feather blades, so far my favourite for every day shaves are the Derby blades closely behind are the Isreali with the feather blades whilst excellent are so sharp they are consigned for hot date nights. I can't compare the razor to other more expensive ones but I am so happy with the closeness of the shave I have no need to upgrade the razor at all, well made easy to keep clean and fit the blades when you need to. The weight and length of the handle make it perform well and feel solid in your hand. I have now started to enjoy the shaving experience and will even shave on my days off where before hand i would just let it grow. If you are looking for a great performing razor at a great price you cannot go wrong with this little gem

This is my first D/E razor and I instantly binned my cartridge razor Wilkinson-Sword. I’ve always suffered with bad razor burn after every shave so I looked into more traditional shaving so I purchased the drake as I thought it would be a good razor to start with and I am very impressed so far I had a couple little nicks on my first shave ( nothing a alum block didn’t fix ) but I was more impressed how I had no razor burn after the shave . The weight off the razor is perfect for me and I would definitely recommend the drake as a razor and the price for the razor is just perfect .

Long and heavy handle, which I like. The head is shaped to give quite a gentle shave, though, which works well with the heavy handle. Gives a pleasant, easy shave that is close enough. An excellent choice for the price.

Great razor for a start, I have had this for a few weeks and I can’t fault it. It feels good in the hand and a good weight to hold. After trying a couple of different blades I get a clean shave and feels amazing. Highly recommended!

This is my first DE razor and I'm impressed with the quality of the machining and chroming. I've tried it with Astra blades and Kai blades and no bloodbath so far; just a couple of pin-sized nicks. This razor and style is definitely a step up in closeness compared to the latest razors from Gillette et al. I'm still playing with blade types but it''s been a good experience so far. I'm sold!

Never, ever again do I use a disposable razor, I won't lie I was scared it may cut my face to pieces but this is a very safe way to shave and there are videos on YouTube to show how easy, and good, they are to use. I chose this as it was a bargain price, believe me that does NOT mean any less quality, lovely shave and the smoothest my face has ever been, I wanted to use these to help the environment and I am so glad I have. I will never look back, super fast delivery too. I will be sure to use Shaving Shack again and again, impressive!

Got this as part of a starter set and have to say it has been a revelation. I started shaving more than 30 years ago using my dad’s butterfly Gillette razor then went electric then onto cartridge razors. I’ve been using a Gillette Mach 3 for about as long as they’ve been making them. Good razor but the cost of cartridges is getting ridiculous. Decided to switch and was bought this as part of a kit.
First impressions were very positive. The fit and finish is really good. Nice weight in the hand and the handle is easily gripped even when wet. First shave was good but I made a mess of it by treating it like a cartridge razor. Lesson learned and with a few days practice I started to get the rhythm of the whole thing. I have used Feather, Personna, Voskhod, Gillette and the Israeli blades that came with it. The shop bought Gillette’s were awful but the rest have been excellent. The thing to remember is to take your time use a good shaving cream and pay attention you are after all putting a blade to your face. Wish I’d switched years ago. The only time the Mach 3 gets used now is if travelling and will be away for just a night or two. I have looked at buying others razors because I always think different is better but so far have resisted as used well the shave from this is a dream. Highly recommended.

This is the first DE razor i've owned so i can't compare to other brands but compared to "regular" multi blade razor this is streets ahead. Shave is so much closer and loads less irritation - i wish i'd changed over sooner!!

New to traditional shaving and after obtaining this razor as part of a bundle I am impressed with its quality of both build and shave. Easy to clean, not too heavy and a delight to use.

More aggressive than the Merkur 34C and EJ89L but it offers a closer save, in fewer passes. For the price it has to be the bargain of the year. Highly recommended.

Great Razor, i love the Head the blade exposes a little bit more, i love the grip of the handle!
But you must hold the angel a little bit flatter as a normaliy DE razor, the finish is probaly better than from Merkur or Mühle?!
Absolutly the razorhead glids better than a merkur or Mühle razorhead!

This is a great razor for the price. Typically, new customers come to us with two razors in mind, the Merkur 34C and the Edwin Jagger DE89. Both have their merits: the Merkur 34C with its great cutting head and supreme grip and the Edwin Jagger with its better chrome plating and longer handle. However, there are gripes with these razors namely the expensiveness of the 34C plus its short handle and the Edwin Jagger with its comparatively slippery handle. The Drake razor is cheaper than both of these razors yet has the qualities of both namely excellent chroming, a heavier, longer and grippier handle and an excellent cutting head (The Hammerhead).
