This razor is beautifully finished -all external surfaces are flawless. I'm an experienced user of double edge safety razors and am comparing this against Merkur razors. This gives a very similar shave to Merkur's classic closed combe design, what sets it apart is the finish. My Merkur razors all have flaws in their finish somewhere, normally in the form of machine marks under the chrome plating, by contrast the Edwin Jagger is immaculate. The handle is nice and grippy. I normally have longer handled razors as I have large hands but using this razor I don't find that I miss the longer handle. One thing I noticed is that the thread on the head is the same size as Merkur use so it is possible to swap handles and heads to make some Merkur/Jagger hybrids. In summary I'd have to give it to the Jagger over the Merkur as it's a better made product for less money. now if only Edwin Jagger could see their way to making a slant bar I'd buy one on the spot!

This is my first time using an DE razor, so I looked around and read the reviews on a few different types.
Have to say I was so happy I didn't have a shave this morning and was working from home when the postman delivered my new razor.
After unpacking, I put in a featherlight blade and rushed to the bathroom. I was not disappointed, the razor weight was lovely and very easy to use. The finish was smooth and just one little knick on my neck, which I am sure improve on. Good bye Gillette, can't wait for tomorrow morning now.

What a fabulous DE Razor, it oozes quality, has a nice weight and a lovely non-slip grip. Not too aggressive, I can highly recommend this razor!
