He started off his review by explaining that because it was his first straight razor experience, he wasn’t sure what to expect from it.

“But after using it as my secondary shaving tool for a while, I’ve really grown to love it,” he explained.

“Shaving with a straight razor is one of those experiences that really separates the men from the boys, and a skill which isn’t very common anymore - so taking the time to learn how to use one was worth it.”

Derek admitted that he was a bit wary of placing a naked razor’s edge directly against his face but went on to say “after playing around with my grip on the razor, I found that I was able to get comfortable holding it and drawing it across my face”.

Derek concluded his review by saying that he was very impressed with the Cyril Salter straight razor, adding “it’s a great entry-level razor for those who wish to begin learning the art of old-school shaving”.

The wet shaving expert from across the pond started off his review by saying that while the cream had an almond scent, “it wasn’t overpowering”.

He continued: “The cream is definitely thick - so thick that I had to make an effort to keep it thin enough on my face for an enjoyable shave.

“Once I got the consistency sorted out, I found that the Cyril Salter shaving cream gave me a great shave with plenty of razor slip, and it rinsed clean with no greasy residue left on my face.”

Derek concluded by saying: “So if you’re looking for a new luxury shave cream, or perhaps a good gift for your son, father, or husband, consider the Cyril Salter line of products. It’s a quality product that helps give an excellent shave.”

The Cyril Salter Luxury Shaving Cream (Almond 165g) is available to buy from the Shaving Shack website at a cost of just £7.99.
