How DECELERINE™ works
The normal hair cycle is divided into four periods:
ANAGEN - Active Growth Phase (2-6 years)
CATAGEN - a short transition period with regression (2-3 weeks)

I used the 'Daubloon' Bristled Shaving Brush to apply, but it you can use it without - it's still just as effective. I've also noticed the declerine really starting get to grips with tough stubble. Spreading the cream on my face, I was impressed. It does have an aroma, but it's not massively overpowering. It's slightly flowery, but not hugely distinctive - quite classic, in fact. When I opened the box, the girl in me loved the packaging. Opening the tub, I was met by an amazing smell I honestly never expected a shaving cream to smell so good. The cream itself has a shine to it and a soft, smooth texture. I battled through my dire shaving skills (practise makes perfect, I suppose!) and was left with silky smooth underarms and legs. The same kind of smoothness I got from waxing. What I liked about the shaving cream is that it wasn't as messy as traditional shaving gel, you could lather up as much or as little cream on the areas you want to shave depending on preference and you were left with a nice smell on your body. Now for the main part, it's been a month since I started using it and I've since shaved twice, ditching waxing for this time period and I'm liking the results. I have noticed a difference in hair growth and that is only from using it twice. I'm noticing bigger results in my underarm than on my legs, as normally my legs take longer for hair to start growing on them again, whereas my underarms start sprouting again after a few days.

Firstly it looks impressive in it's deep azure box with the striking logo. The top is tactile and the pot is solid but made of a plastic which is recyclable and also won't shatter if you drop it on the floor. When you then open up the pot, the cream itself is pearlised. Pearlised pirate shaving cream dagnammit! I couldn't want more - except there is more - the creme contains no parabens or other chemical nasties, it glides on and a little goes a very long way, and it contains an ingredient which slows down the growth of hair over time. Win win win wiiiiin!!

The cream itself is thick, pearl-scent and rich and is easy to work into thick stubble. The packaging suggests that, for best results, it be applied with a shaving brush. I've never owned a shaving brush - I share a bathroom with an eminent beauty blogger, I think myself lucky to still have space for a toothbrush - so I applied it by hand. Admittedly, I've no experience of brushing to compare it with but I felt that massaging it in by hand was perfectly satisfactory. The cream has a more 'muscular' scent than what I've become used to but I've grown rather fond of it. The richness of the cream made for a very comfortable shave and I've had no problems with it in the three weeks or so that I've been using it. Clearly, that isn't enough time to judge the 'reduction in beard growth' claim but it has been long enough to persuade me to switch brands from Kiehl's.
