Product: Merkur Futur 761 Adjustable Safety Razor with Chrome Finish
Review: These were out of stock so I mailed Dan to find out when they would be back in, unlike some other companies I have used in the past I got a prompt response saying they were on order for some time in the week, the next day I got another mail telling me these were now in stock.
I ordered mine on Friday & it turned up on Tuesday, extremely well packaged & with my free gift of Bluebeards post shave balm, how about that for service, I get it cheaper than anywhere else with a free gift!!!
Even if you only buy one to hear the noise it makes as it demolishes your stubble it is worth it.
Awesome service & a brilliant razor, I'm now considering using my HD34c as a travel razor as this has taken its place.
Review: I've been using the Merkur Futur for some weeks now, long enough to be confident that it's my all-time favourite.
The weight is exactly right to cut the bristles without apparent effort, which in turn means a nick-free shave. I haven't so much as scraped myself yet (that's tempting fate, I know).
I read on one review that the Futur is "noisy", and so it is. Maybe it's because the shape of the head creates an acoustic chamber, or maybe it's the spring mechanism, but you can clearly hear the razor cutting as it moves across your face. Personally I find that an advantage, since you're immediately aware if you stray from the optimum cutting angle.
The satin chrome version certainly isn't slippery to hold, and the mechanism is perfectly safe to change blade or adjust the cut even with wet hands.
My only slight criticism is that the bulk of the head makes it slightly awkward to shave under the nose, but it just takes a bit of manipulation.
A definite 5 stars!
Review: What a cracking little razor this is !!! You have to be very steady with the feather blades, but when you get it right....what a result !! It's the way MEN shave !!
Review: Reasonably inexpensive, pleasant light fragrance, and giving a smooth cushion to shave with...pretty good for a product that is cheaper than most. Very quick and easy to create a decent lather, too.
Review: I got one of these within a month after getting a Futur...and this is far superior. If I had one of these first, I wouldn't have wanted the Merkur. The quality of the manufacture is reflected in the shave...smooth, consistent and accurate. It's a beautiful tool to use.
The head of this is the same as the much cheaper DE89 models, and that of the Muhle R89 razors, but I wanted this beautiful handle, even though it costs much more. But it does feel good in the hand and is very well balanced.
If you really need convincing what a nice shave this razor is, look up Geofatboy's video on YouTube reviewing the DE89...he was mightily impressed.
Review: This was my first "proper" DE razor. It seemed to have a lot of good reviews and comments, and I thought the adjustable feature would be a good thing. However, it's really not that great. It's quite bulky, heavy and cumbersome, and even quite crudely made considering the price, and the blade alignment isn't very accurate, nor secure and consistent. And the way it shaves reflects this too, in my opinion. Yes, it will give yuo a good shave, but this razor just isn't as good as it should be.

Product: Proraso Pre and Post Shave Cream (100ml)
Review: I keep trying this stuff on and off, but apart from the menthol aroma having a wake-you-up-quickly action, it really doesn't seem to have any effect on the shave. Rather pointless, really.
Review: The most important thing I can say about this blade is...treat it with respect. When new, they are incredibly sharp, so be light and gentle, otherwise cuts and irritation abound. Days two and three are the sweet spots for these though, and are a pleasure to use. However, be warned, they do go dull suddenly, and day four could be a rough time if you don't watch out.

Product: Shaving Shack "Buccaneer" Pure Badger Shaving Brush
Review: Having used synthetic and bristle brushes in the past, I had ignored the badger option as an expensive luxury. How wrong I was. Not only is this brush reasonably priced, but it's a whole step change in lathering up. It holds much more water than my previous brushes, which makes for more, and finer lather. It's comfortable to use, and matches the ivory drip stand. First use sees a couple of hairs coming loose, but after that it's fine. If you've never used a badger brush, then it's time to move up. And priced like this, there's really no excuse.

Product: 4 Pack of Gillette Mach 3 Razor Blades
Review: Mach 3 the last decent cartridge razor... Well in my opinion anyway.
3 blades are better than 4 or 5 and significantly cheaper. It will never be as good as my cut throat or safety razor. But sometimes when your really in a hurry and need a good shave you can always rely on the Mach 3.
These blades are not the turbo type which is actually just grey instead of black and more expensive.
Great razor blades for the money.
Review: I bought this after seeing a few reviews on some forums - I'm really impressed!
It's quite a firm cream, but it's fine for taking a chunk on the finger to pop in the lather bowl. It quickly whips up into a really nice thick meringue like consistency and has a very mild herbal scent which is pleasant.
Only thing that I would say is a minus is that the tub is pretty unattractive - not one which I'm allowed to leave on the counter top in the bathroom!

Review: Overall I'm pretty happy with this brush - it's a bit stiffer than some of the others but as I have a thick beard growth I think this helps get the stubble raised and into the lather.

Review: I am stunned by this razor. For the first time in my adult life, (and I'm 39...) I have been able to shave my sensitive neck competely clean, with NO irritation or redness. I have previously used various Multi-cartridge razors, and I simpy wish I had found this razor 20 years ago. The weight of the whole thing is perfect, and the headpiece seems to hug your face effortlessly, making the whole process easy and pleasurable. I cannot recommend this razor enough, it has transformed my whole view of shaving. Thanks to Shaving-shack for great advice, quick delivery and an unbeatable product.
Review: Being my first proper 'old school' cream, it HAD to be Sandalwood!
First of all, it comes in a very big pot, there's copious amounts of it and I can see it lasting months. It is quite a thick cream (haven't compared to many others) but for a noob (me) it took a while to whip it up. Gives a really nice rich lather though.
As for the scent.... for all those (like me) that were intrigued by Sandalwood having never smelt it before - It smells a bit like Sudocrem! That was disappointing to me at first but whipped up the clinical smell fades off and leaves a nice, clean, spicy masculine scent. Gives a good glide to the razor but dried my skin just a little (no problem though with moisturiser).

Review: This is an amazing DE razor. The balance and weight make shaving with it a breeze. It's shot handle and textured grip made handing it even with wet hands easy. I've been shaving with mine for some time now and love it!
I would recommend this DE razor to any beginner to traditional wet shaving. When you start with this DE razor you rest assured that you've made the right choice, then you only need to worry about choosing the right blade! Happy shaving :-)
Review: This little shavette is the proverbial bees knees. It has a good weight to the razor and changing a blade is an ease. Word of caution though when changing blades. Snap the blade in the wrapper. then place the blade in the holder whilst the blade is covered in the wrapper. Saves the bathroom looking like Reservoir dogs. The shave is as you would expect from a shavette, the best blades i found are feather for my coarse dark hair. But found derby to work well when giving a hot towel shave for my fair haired mate. He survived as did our friendship I am glad to say. Excellent gift from my girlfriend and she highly regards the shaving shacks service.

Review: I'm more into the shaving creams but thought that i would give this a try. This is soap that is different to pretty much everything else out there. It seems to soften and mousterise the skin better than anything else that i've used. Many people have problems with getting the right consistency with it and it does take a bit of trial and error. Persevere with it and you will be rewarded with the slickest lather you can get. I believe it is best to lather on top of the puck itself or lather on the face directly rather than in a separate mug/bowl. The scent is subtle but very nice The Mitchells soap dish that it comes in is a quality ceramic dish.

Review: If your looking at getting into the world of straight razor shaving but not sure then this is the way to go. It is at a great price to see if this way of shaving is for you and if it isn't then you haven't wasted much money. I picked this particular parker shavette due to the chrome effect. After receiving quickly (the norm from shaving shack) I was impressed by the quality for the price. I have to admit on the first shave I did get a few nicks and cuts but nothing that an alum block won't sort out. it will take a few more tries to get the technique but overall its a good shave. Product: Proraso Ultra-Sensitive Shaving Cream Jar (150ml)
Review: If your face gets irritated by the more scented shaving creams then this is the way to go. Its not completely scent free but I'm no longer getting skin irritation. I my opinion I think that it has a slight lemon/aloe vera scent.
In terms of consistency, this is somewhat harder and thicker than an ordinary cream; it takes a little more work to get it to lather than others I've used, but once done it has a luxurious lather that retains extremely well. You don't have to use much of it to produce good foam, and it has a slickness and stickiness that helps the blade glide across the face.
It has a small amount of menthol in the product which I find doesn't annoy my face like the original version by proraso.
Overall I find this product to be one of the best sensitive shaving cream/soaps out there.

My brother talked me into buying a decent Badger brush, 34c razor, some Proraso menthol cream and a selection of blades. I can honestly say that it's been the best purchase I have ever made...60 the lot !!!!
And what a website !! Just waiting for the shavette to arrive now, hopefully I wont be waiting for the ambulance to arrive after my first crack at straight shaving !!
Review: Together with his brothers - DE86 and DE89(L) - the ideal introduction to classic wet-shaving. This is a mild razor and therefore just perfect for learning the proper technique. It shaves closer with "sharper" blades like Gillette SharpEdge, Astras or Feathers. The faux ivory handle matches almost perfectly the colour of Simpson shaving brush handles. Very pleasing!
Review: I bought this brush recently here because I made good experiences with Vulfix boar brushes in the past. I thought a boar/badger mix take it to the next level. The handle is very solid and absolutely worth the money. Awesome. The brush performs quite well but the bristles are too scratchy for my likings. It seems like the badger hairs in the knot are clipped at their tops. If you intend to use this brush with a shaving bowl - no problem and I would really recommend it for that application. Not ideal for face lathering if you have sensitive skin - it really stressed my skin before I even started to shave! Decent backbone, that's right. First uses it stinks a little when wet but vanishes after a few shaves.
Overall a decent brush for the price.

Product: Simpsons Chubby Best Badger Brush (CH2)
Review: This must be the 5th Simpson brush I bought at Shaving Shack. Its a big brush. I enjoy it a lot. Terrific for face lathering. Very luxorius and comfy- however I do prefer its smaller brother CH1. But seriously this brush have been a best seller for Simpsons since the 40s. The prefered brush of the original Simpson family as well. Buy with confidence. Bare in mind that its very dense (good thing) so it will take more than a day to dry completely. Me myself am fine by that.

Product: Parker 99R Heavy Duty Butterfly Premium Barberpole
Review: Bought this several months ago, and on the whole I was very pleased with it. I liked the weight, I liked the way it gives a very smooth shave and I liked the price of the replacement razor blades. This is a much better choice than a multi-blade cartridge.
But - and this is important - the build quality is not as good as it could be. After a few months I noticed that the screw at the base of the handle, which tigtens to clamp the blade in place, quickly works its way loose, often in the middle of a shaving stroke. It becomes all too easy to cut yourself with the blade moving about and having to constantly tighten it soon beomes tiresome.
Although this is a good razor, I would recommend looking for an alternative that doesn't have butterfly opening.

Product: Alum Block
Review: This is an essential shaving item. You can feel it tightening up your skin and like others have pointed out you get a gentle reminder of the areas where you've overdone it slightly. It doesn't have the harsh sting of a styptic pencil and doesn't leave your face anywhere near as chalky. I wash my face with cold water after shaving, wet the Alum block and rub all over the shaving area. I leave it a minute then rinse off with cold water and splash on some Proraso aftershave, which tops off the shave nicely. Remember to dry it well before you put it away to prolong it's life. Definitely worth the money.

Product: Proraso Shaving Cream Jar (150ml)
Review: I bought this as a travel alternative to my Geo F Trumper Extract of West Indian Limes soap and to be honest the two products are incomparable in my eyes. The Proraso has a lovely invigorating smell, feels great on the face and make a lovely creamy rich lather that helps my DE razor glide over my skin. I'm using in conjunction with Proraso Pre-Shave Cream, an alum block and Proraso aftershave and I have to say my skin looks and feels great afterwards.

Product: Muhle-Pinsel Chrome Shaving Bowl
Review: I ordered this to keep in my travel wash bag and the first thing I noticed was the size; certainly smaller than I anticipated it to be - ideal for travel as well as at home. Nevertheless, it feels nice in the hand and allows me to make enough lather for 2 passes (I'm using with Proraso regular shaving cream). Feels like it should last a long time, so a worthwhile addition to your shaving apparatus.

Product: Simpsons Duke Best Badger Brush (D3)
Review: I can't believe how much I was missing from my shave routine until I got this brush. Recieved this today and could not wait to use it and boy did it deliver and more. This brush lathers like a dream. I give " The Duke" my stamp of approval and recommendation.
Review: A very nice razor. I had to buy a new razor, when my first one after use for only 6 months was impossible to open. I chose this style of DE razor, mainly because of the way it opens. I believe it will never get stuck. But this new Edwin Jagger razor really impressed me, with its nice grip and good feel. I get a good shave with this razor, every time. If you have a tough beard i recommend the "Derby" DE razor blades. They are the only ones i get a good shave with.

Product: Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Classic
Review: Beautiful piece of German engineering. It has a lovely weight to it and is perfectly balanced, the handle in shorter than your 'off the shelf' razors but that just adds to the beauty of of it.
I would definitely recommend this razor

Product: Parker Model 91R Three Piece Safety Razor with Nickel Plated Finish
Review: After trying out a cheap plastic de razor and deciding that DE shaving was for me I took the plunge on buying a "proper DE razor" After much deliberation I plumped for this Parker 91R as I wanted a razor with a decent weight to it as I have very dense thick hair growth (think Desperate Dan crossed with Homer Simpson). Added to that the criss cross pattern on the handle for increased grip and this is an excellent razor giving me the closest shave I have ever had. The price in comparison to the equivalent Merkur razor was also a deciding factor. Overall an excellent purchase for me.

Product: The Bluebeards Revenge Luxury Shaving Cream Sample (20ml)
Review: I receieved this as a free sample with my first order (just embracing the world of de safety razor shaving) I have used a shaving brush/soap and creams for a couple of years now and have to say this is an excellent product. It produces a rich creamy lather with very little effort and provides a very smooth and comfortable shave. I am using it in conjunction with a shaving oil. After approximately 20 shaves I am also noticing a reduction in hair growth particularly on my cheeks/neck. Considering I have extremely thick dense hair growth I'm pleasantly suprised by this.

Product: Merkur Travel Razor 933CL
Review: Bought 7 months ago with a Merkur 34c (for everyday shaving) and a Merkur 38c (for those times there's a bit more rough). This little razor has seen use both on holiday and in hotels on business use. It's lighter than the other Merkurs and packs up incredibly small into its tiny case. All three are well built and very good looking. It makes me ashamed to say I actually look forward to being away from home...!!

Product: Merkur 38C Barberpole
Review: Bought 7 months ago as art of change in shaving regime, together with a Merkur 34c. The 38c is weightier, and easily glides through the rough! Used for those times when I haven't shaved for a few days, however, since shaving has become much more of a pleasure this razor hasn't had much use as the 34c is my daily shaver. Thoroughly recommended, with great service from The Shaving Shack!

Review: This has to be the best razor I have ever used, the craftsmanship of this razor is absolutely superb, I believe this razor combined with a feather blade is a match made in heaven, I suffered irritation with my Mach 3, and the Fusion, after my shave no irration whatsoever, this razor just glided across my face it was such a wonderful shave, I have never had such a close shave, it is truly a wonderful experience, the overall cost of blades is much cheaper by far compared to the other leading disposable brands, Mach 3 has gone in the bin and this is now my razor of choice combined with the feather blades.

Product: Parker 34R White Shavette (SRW)
Review: My first shavette and so so happy with it, it replaced a gillette i had been using for a long time but the time and care you can take with a shavette it so rewarding. still after a month not managed not to get one nick though. bummer
Review: I left the Mach 3 behind after this arrived. It's a comfortable shave, and much closer than the multi-bladed cartridge systems that I've used. Like other reviewers, I found the handle quite short compared to the Mach 3, but this is of little consequence. Changing blades is quick, easy and hassle-free.
For a new convert to De razors and shaving, I would say to allow more time for your morning shave until you get the hang of it. And soap/Cream and a brush is essential. No good shaving product comes out of an aerosol. Enjoy
Review: I expected great things from this shaving cream as the price meant that it was the most expensive that Shaving Shack had to offer and therefore had to be the best, but would I disappointed - unfortunately for the price, I was.
Firstly, coming in a 200g tub, the perception of the amount that I received was significantly smaller than any other 200g tub of shave cream; but that could be down to the weight/size of the glass jar that it arrived in. Secondly, the shave cream arrived in a state that is best described as like a curdled egg and the texture was not consistent throughout. However, I must state that it smelt great and it truly did encapsulate the smell of a mountain fresh shaving cream.
Well, thinking nothing was wrong I tried to lather up in my shave mug and, using the same amount that I use for all other creams, the results on the initial trial were at best poor and at worst scandalous for the price; it felt that I was no better lathering with just water as it instantly dried on my face and I thought that it was an issue with the cream. Should I complain or retry as generally I had read positive reviews on this brand of shave creams?
Well, I retried this weekend and rather than add the cream directly to the shave mug, I dabbed the brush to provide a generous amount of cream and the difference was at the opposite end of the spectrum. An extremely thick lather was produced and it provided an exceptional shave, but felt that I had used a significant amount of the cream that I previously described as minimal in quantity. The smell was luxurious and I suffered no razor burn, nicks or weeps.
This is a worthy cream to provide an excellent shave, but used in the same quantities of other top-end creams then it provided a far from satisfactory lather; at this price this is unacceptable. There are far better creams on the market, at this and cheaper price bands, that will provide more enjoyment to your shaving experience and only purchase this cream for when you either want to be reminded of the Norwegian mountains or you win the lottery!

Product: Proraso Liquid After Shave Cream (100ml)
Review: Im not a frequent wet shaver as my stubble doesnt grow that quickly, but like most men I tend to get razor burn & irritation afterwards, no matter how careful I am or how long I take.
Ive tried numerous "high street" post shave lotions & balms with slight success but usually felt as though Ive wasted my money. Then after hours of internet research the name Proraso kept cropping up. Purchased some Proraso pre shave cream & loved it! So thought Id give the Proraso liquid after Shave Cream a go. Pure bliss! Thats the only way to describe this stuff with regard to the way it makes your skin feel. Takes any irritation away instantly & stays that way. Wish I had to shave every day!
Not a big fan of the scent though, which doesnt last that long anyway. Expected a bit more of a menthol smell, like the pre shave cream but overall verdict; excellent stuff.

Product: Vulfix Old Original Shaving Cream (Sandalwood 225ml)
Review: I bought this product as was looking for something a little different from all the other shaving gels/foams on the market. This is a lovely shave cream which smells very traditional. With this product I also use something I would have thought didnt make much of a difference ( a pre-shave lotion/cream.) All I can say is that if you havent got into the habbit of using a pre shave product then you really should because the result you will achieve are amazing. I use the Proraso range specifically for this and it truely is wonderful. The smell of the product is of a menthol nature which if you use properly and a decent amount really does wake up the skin and prepare it for a good shave. The last thing i would say would be that at present I am still shaving with the old cartridge bog standard wet shaver and the shave I get is very good. However i have ordered a new DE Razor for myself to use in conjuction with the products I have recently purchased. I really would say that if you want to treat yourself then those 3 products should be enough to make any man feel good in the morning. Like all men or atleast most men, I dreaded shaving but now I actually look forward to it, its no longer a chore that I have to do but just something else added to the male grooming resigme that is a must for any modern man!! Happy Shaving folks!!
Review: I started my DE shaving with Parker 91R and with every single blade mark I got razor cuts. When I got this EJ Chatworth shave goes like a dance with even sharpest blades almost without any cuts/nicks. This razor has really opened my eyes that on shaving best results could cost a bit more but it is definetly worth it :) Highly recommended.

Product: Shark Super Stainless Double Edged Razor Blades
Review: I have been using these for 2 weeks now instead of Feathers/ Green Astras which are my stock blades. I really like these Sharks, smooth and sharp with absolutely no cuts or nicks in a variety of razors (38C, 34G, Superspeed, Fat handle Tech). These are the absolute business as far as I am concerned I've found my third go-to blade. Have just bought a big stock of these if that is anything to go by! Excellent.
