Product: Shaving Shack "Buccaneer" Pure Badger Shaving Brush
Review: Fantastic brush at a fantastic price, this brush has a an extremley high quality and is great value for money. The quality of this brush is easily comparable to brushes 10-20 more expensive than this, it has great water retention, the bristles are nice and soft which is a big plus for me having sensitive skin; however the bristles are prominent enough to get a nice thick lather with a lot of moisture.
Handle is nice and firm, brush just looks simple and stylish.
Thanks again Shaving Shack!

Review: Compared to a badger brush it easily absorbs an equal amount of water and stays moist all day. Surprisingly soft "hair". This one does not need to be washed before shaving - it was able to maintain a pleasant aroma before and after shaving; unlike some other natural brushes. After shaving I have always dried it up with a crude dry towel and it has not dropped a single hair.
Comes in a small dark prussian blue Taylor of Old Bond Street cardboard box.

The Parker is subtly different, perfectly weighted , it feels like the return of an old friend and I feel comfortable in its daily use. Not too harsh it has enhanced my daily shaving experience and has restored my faith in DE shaving. A highly recommended razor.

Product: Taylor Of Old Bond St Sandalwood Soap and Bowl
Review: I purchased 2 of these bowl sets one for myself and another for my Grandfather; he has been an avid shaver for many years and I know that he'll appreciate the little bit of luxury these sets provide. Firstly I have to commend the fast delivery that I received and the goods were packaged well. From start to finish the whole product exudes elegance, the neat cream box with classic font labelling is testament to the quality that British manufacturers can produce and this is before you even get to the product! The bowl is a beautiful and simple wood affair and when the lid is removed the piece looks great, the soap is fitted snugly inside and smells amazing, Sandalwood is just one of those classic 'manly' musky smells and the fragrance is beautifully strong; however not suffocating or overpowering at all, it's prominent but light. With the size of the bar I can see it lasting a long time and the fact that the soap sits so snugly means that there isn't an excess amount of water sitting at the bottom of the bowl going stagnant and ruining the bottom of the soap. It lathers brilliantly and created a great thick and very moist lather on the face - I lathered it into the bowl first and then applied, however on a second pass I did lather directly onto the face and it worked equally as well and gave a great shave. It didn't dry out quickly and the remaining lather after shaving was removed quickly without any soapy sliminess nor did it leave that dry pasty feeling that I sometimes experience from soaps. I have very sensitive skin and this felt fine all the way through even after working it on for 2nd/3rd pass. After shaving I put on aftershave balm and moisturiser, this morning I moisturised again and put some aftershave on however I can still smell the scent, albeit very subtly. All in all this soap is fantastic, the product is (in my opinion) a display of how Great Britain can be and proves why we were once world leaders because we created exceptional products and made the effort to produce items of the highest quality without considering the detrimental effect on profit margins, you can tell it's made by people who want to provide a luxurious service. At the end of the day it's an affordable price as it will last a long time, if you want to look after your face and experience a brilliant product with a classic smell then this is the product for you, however if you'd prefer to slop on a slimy 74p gel that smells like radioactive lemons and limes then you'd best look elsewhere.

Product: Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Classic
Review: Its hard to say anything about this cracking razor that hasn't already been said. It really is a great shaving tool from all aspects. It feels good, it looks good and it shaves amazingly well.
I went to a 34c after using a Wilkinsons Sword Classic DE razor. I wanted to use something that was a bit better quality, as the Wilkinsons Classic has a plastic handle and head, which makes it very light and flimsy feeling. I checked about several web sites and found the Shaving Shack to have the biggest selection of quality razors as well as a great number of user reviews. I chose the 34c, and it arrived through the door very promptly.
Overall I am very happy with the product and service, and I have already recommended several friends and colleagues to check out the shaving shack and to get rid of their mach 3's.

Product: Truefitt & Hill Luxury Shaving Soap and Wood Bowl (99g)
Review: One of my favourite soaps. The smell is great and fresh (little bit lavender and other fresh flowers). A other good thing: The soap is based on fully natural oils (no tallow and no mineral oil products) - The lather is quite right not too thick and not too thin and well protecting during shaving. It is my weekend soapI assume because of this the soap will last years.
And one thing is for free: the feeling of standing in the row of famous users of the T&H; history ;)

Review: Great lather like used from Taylor creams. Also the smell is good Sandalwood. The only drawback: The smell is coming from perfume only not from the essential oil of the sandalwood tree so you can not expect the benefits of the essential oil (aroma therapy) this is a little bit disappointing because of the statement herbal aromatics but like mentioned for the shaving procedure itself this has no impact.

Product: Proraso Shaving Cream Jar (150ml)
Review: I can see this becoming a permanent fixture in my shaving stuff. The first cream I've used and it's fairly easy to get a nice lather, even with the slightly rubbish brush I'm using. It's a hard cream, but the writing on the tub says it's a soap. I think the texture is probably a hybrid of cream and soap.
It smells nice, a clean and fresh scent, probably more suited to warmer months. I would actually prefer that the scent was stronger, it's pretty mild and doesn't last long. It leaves a lovely tingling feeling on the skin and has a cooling sensation. Overall it's easy to see why Proraso has been around for so long, a classic.

Product: Merkur 33C Classic Double Edge Razor
Review: Aged 20, I've only recently needed to start shaving on a regular basis. I didn't want to carry on using cartrage razors as they felt very aggressive on my face, so I decided to start as I meant to go on and use a DE.
I read a few things about different razors and non adjustable Merkurs seemed to be the most recommended for those starting out. I was originally going to get the Merkur 34C but it was sold out. I came across the 33C which has a narrower handle and is around 10g lighter (it's also cheaper by about a fiver).
It arrived quickly from Shaving Shack along with a tub of proraso and free Israeli blades. The razor was smaller than I imagined but feels very well balanced. It also seems very well made and all parts of the razor fit together snugly.
The shave was excellent considering it was my first time using a DE. The razor has enough weight to it so no extra pressure is required. I didn't get any cuts or razor burn. The handle has a good grip so there is little chance of it slipping out of your hand.
Overall I would recommend the 33C if you are just starting out. This seems to be a good razor for increasing your confidence in DE and for improving your technique. It has really kick started my interest in wet shaving and I'm looking forward to adding more razors to my collection. Well it's not a collection at the moment since I only have this one.
Also more experienced shavers may want to consider this as a fairly cheap and compact razor for travelling.

One word comes to mind and that's "smooth" which contrasts nicely with it's "real man" razor image, as defined by it's weight and it's purposeful ruggedness. I did two passes which left me wth a very close shave.

Review: Design of this razor suites my taste well: simple and classic 3 piece DE razor, a fusion of Art Deco design with modern crafting technologies and superb materials - finish is just flawless... real piece of art.
Slightly top heavy, but in overall well balanced and gives solid feel in hand.
The grip is not so prominent as those on e.g. Merkurs razers, but certainly offers an appropriate holding ability in wet conditions (handle pattern is not here just for decoration, it is pretty functional).
Very user friendly, refine, non agresive razor, that gives a great shave, and by all means is worth every penny...

Review: This is my first experience of wet shaving, so not being sure if it would suit me I was attracted to the price of this kit. I went for the Knightsbridge 90R razor. The weight is ideal for me and the butterfly opening makes changing razors very quick, safe and they always line up. Out of the three different razors blades I have tried the derbys and feathers. Both are nice but the feathers seem to give a closer shave. The Omega set is very nice, the cream feels very nice on the face, so much better then foam. The brush is good but when it wears out I will upgrade to a badger brush. The Styptic pencil does what it should. If you are thinking about changing the way you shave then this kit is a great place to start

I use this with some Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap, being a small bowl (shaving shack sell a larger one), I used cheese grater to make my soap fit, and it really works well. The handle on the top is more decorative than usable, but hey, you can work that out from the photos and dimensions are published in the description. Review: Ah, my first steps into the world of DE shaving. For 10 years I shaved with clippers, maintaining a constant level of stubble. I'd given up on wet shaving due to the horrific rash I would always get the next day, and besides, every time I was clean shaven (weddings, interviews etc) people would always comment that I looked 12 yrs old!! Time moves on....looking young could now be considered a high quality problem. A quick search on the internet might lead you to think that the best shave comes from potions and gadgets, however proper research reveals that solutions for today can be found in products from the past, a good brush, quality soap, a faithful razor and cheap (high quality) blades. I'm 3 weeks in, the learning curve has been enjoyable, and the results are better than I ever achieved in 1 year with a Gillette mach 3, or 3 months with an electric razor. Shaving is now a pleasure, and my Merkur 38C will probably last forever.

Product: Gillette 7 O' Clock Double Edged Razor Blades
Review: These blades are produced in St. Petersburg Russia and they are by far the smoothest and most comfortable blade at its price point that I have used to date. These blades differ from the Russian 7 O'clock PermaSharp blades in smoothness and sharpness IMHO. The SharpEdge blades are coated where as the PermaSharp blades are not. I am not sure sure about the same blades that are produced in India, I have not tried them.
I have tried this blade in several razors, and with many different soaps and creams. With every trial run, I get excellent results and of course some are better with certain soap/cream and razor combinations than others but I still get steller results compared to other blades I have used.
I find these blades just as smooth and sharp as Feather but far cheaper. The only thing I feel the Feathers have over the SharpEdge blades is the fact that they seem to last longer than the SharpEdge blades.
If you like Feathers, I urge you to give these a try. They might surprise you.

Review: Having decided that DE shaving is definitely for me after a month of using the value bristle brush, and with a bonus coming up, I treated myself to the BK4.
I was worried that it would be a little on the small side, but don't be fooled - the knot fans out very wide and it looks massive on my face as I'm applying a lather. I'm 6ft 3 with large hands, and this brush is the perfect size. Beautifully soft, it whips up mounds of lather in seconds. I've used it with Omega Cream, Colonel Conk Amber soap and Cyril Salter Sandalwood cream and it handles them all without any problems.
I've had it almost a week, used it daily and it hasn't shed a hair. A very worthwhile investment, and one likely to last me for many, many years to come.
Review: I cannot rate this cream highly enough; the scent is simply divine and lingers on the skin for hours after shaving. I felt like a lord shaving with this incredibly-lathersome product, and smelled like one afterwards.

Review: This is the first "proper" DE that I bought, and I can advise it to any new-starter or veteran of wet-shaving. After trying some cheap Chinese DE variants, being unsatisfied by the experience, I took my chance with Merkur, which seems to never fail its customers. The hardest part was the "Which Merkur to start?" and after long hours of research, it was between 34 and 38C. As this is the new 38C with enhanced features (combining the best features), it was pretty easy to call last decision.
The 2-piece structure is same with 38C, a crucial point in replacing the razor blades. The blade is hefty, which is totally necessary for blade to cut the beard (not forcing the user to "scrape off"). All you need is to glide the blade, and it will be a German piece of art in your hand.
Long handle is something desired for people with bigger hands, but it does not create any problems with guys with smaller ones.
In summary, Merkur does it again, and delivers what "Solingen" stands for in wet-shaving...

Just one problem to me...the scent, I don't know if Taylor change is formulation but I tough I would get the same fragance as my rose I have in the garden...it's not that one.

Review: This produces a lovely lather and gives a great methol tingle on the skin that really does wake your face up in the morning. Fantastic value product.
Review: So - my first DE razor arrived this morning and it was put to use straight away. A beautiful-looking and solid piece of engineering, it has a reassuring weight in my large hand and just oozes quality. Without having to apply any pressure as I ran it over my face, it quickly & smoothly dispensed with a week's worth of growth in single strokes.
I can honestly say that this is the closest shave I've ever had in 25 years. It's as smooth as my 9yr-old daughter's face - she'll be delighted when she doesn't have to get a 'scratchy kiss' goodnight!
The Azor and the Mach 3 went into the bucket this morning; I'm never going back to the dark side.

The razor looks very fine in the chrome finish and everthing looks in great quality. I think the razor works great for a live long, it is a really great investment. Shaving Shack sell it for a great price.

Review: My favourite brush! Other larger brushes (include other Simpsons) are somehow floppy and are mainly best suited for creams only. Not this one. Very nice size and a lot of BACKBONE but still soft on the skin. I have quite big hands but this is no issue. I have moved away from big brushes which tend to be messy. This brush serve you enough lather for several passes. This brush is all quality and looks terrific. Goes equally well with creams and soaps. This is THE brush gentlemen.

Review: Nearly everyone recommends this cream, it's easy to see why. The first cream I used when I got into wet-shaving saw me get some of the best shaves of my life, and the cooling sensation you get on your skin is terrific for hot sunny days, really revives you. The eucalyptus scent is certainly unique, and seems to divide opinions. Personally I think it's a very fresh, green scent and I like it, although it doesn't stay around for long if you're not a fan of it. I'd recommend everyone tries this cream, especially with it being a great price as well.

Review: This is a great cream. I am now officially hooked on the Taylor of Old Bond Street range!
It has a lovely traditional scent - which lasts all day. It gives a great lather (although I find it needs a bit more moisture to get it going compared to Old Eton) and allows for a very close shave.
If you are looking for a traditionally scented shaving cream, this really is the cream for you.

Product: Merkur 23C Long Handled Classic
Review: My first DE razor for about 20 years. I selected it as I have large hands (ape like is one description!). It arrived very quickly and I couldn't resist having a go - hey it's a new toy. It has a very pleasing weight to the head and although described as long handled, it isn't unwieldy. I went with the grain first off and was quite disappointed if I'm honest, tried it going across the grain and it was better. Finally I tried how I've always shaved, against the grain, and yep, a great close shave and no soreness and issues. I now shave against the grain straight from the off and find it to be excellent for me, far closer than the mach 3 and less irritation. OK, so now I'm a sucker for these razors and have just ordered the small travel Merkur to take on my travels with me.
I think it is a nice looking razor and I am a bit upset that it now resides in the bathroom cabinet rather than on display after my 2 year old son started casting admiring glances at it whilst I cleaned his teeth. Ah well, may be he can inherit it when he's old enough to shave and I can get another new shiny one - do you think 3 is too young to shave?

Review: This is my second DE razor after the Futur, the butterfly opening is a plus for the security (at the beginning I cut my finger when I changed the blade on my Futur).
It is heavier than the future but very well balanced and provides a unique shaving. With Derby or Feather blade you have the best razor in my mind.
Review: It's my first DE razor,
I never liked to shave, but I finish my studies, and I think that the three days' stubble is not required in enterprise..
So, I decide to buy a real razor, not an electric or a multiblade.
It is a very good razor, I bought it with Derby Extra blade, and I can say that it shave very good !!

Product: Musgo Real Pre Shave Oil
Review: This stuff sticks to the skin, which suits me as I have dry skin. My shaving method is; wash with Molton Brown face cleanser, hold hot, wet flannel against chin etc. for about 1 minute, apply Musco Real pre-shave oil, put pea-sized bit of Musco Real shave cream in a bowl with shave soap (currently Mitchell's Wool Fat), whip up lather with brush (Vulfix whatever), daub lather on chin, pass razor over chin, one pass only, clearing razor between sweeps, re-apply soap/cream mix (plenty is left on the brush), pass razor over chin etc. a second time. The result is a close shave and at the end of it the shave oil is still there!
Review: I like the simplicity of this razor; just three well-made parts which hold the fourth (the blade) very nicely. The handle has good length, diameter and texture, allowing easy control. Since there are only three parts I'm sure this razor will be easy to maintain. Oh...and it works, of course! (-:
Review: This razor is absolutely superb. Fit it with an Israeli or an Astra, use some good cream or soap and it will give you a smooth face all day. Not just for coarse beards, its for everyone! Buy one its a real gem.

Product: 30 Derby Extra Double Edged Razor blades
Review: This blades should be considered the standard when shaving.
I have yet to try many other blades but as a newbie I first was afraid that they wouldn't be my thing, but I was wrong.
Not only are they great and offer a good, smooth shave but are also cheap and last up to four shaves.
On the negative side I found that they could be a bit sharper, but I guess that there are people who like them as they are.
My tip is that you place them on a paper napkin to air dry after each use, this will increase the longliveness of the blade.

Product: Merkur 38C Barberpole
Review: I ordered this razor as my first DE razor ever a few weeks ago and since then I've been having the best shaves in my life.
First, like many others, I was concerned that this would be a rather "dangerous" experience since I wasn't familiar with safety razors or blades but the truth is that it is very easy to shave with it and since then I have reduced in nicks and cuts by a 99%.
It is aggressive but not too much. This way it offers a well balanced equilibrium.
Another thing I like it's is heaviness. It allows you to slide and glide the razor so easily and gently over the skin without any pressure that it will help you to get a closer shave.
And finally here's a tip I love: The razor is completely made of quality metal, that means that if you rinse it off under hot water and then apply it on your face you get a lovely delicious warm feeling you can't experience with a cartridge razor. Try it out!

Review: I bought this as my first DE razor having got fed up with the price of cartridge razor heads. This gives a great shave, so far I have used it with Merkur, Feather and Israeli blades. It works well with all these, but the Israeli are my favourite and fantastic value. I chose the 23c as I wanted a longer handled razor, and I find it very comfortable to use.
DE shaving is rather different to shaving with the multiblade cartridge razors so it is worth doing a bit of research into how to shave if you have not used a DE before. It is well worth it, a better shave and for less money.

Review: I've been using a cheap brush I got in spain, when this one arrived in the post I was very pleased upon opening the box. Lovely firm feeling dark and light badger hair. It's a nice weight for it's size and the handle is well shaped too. Just don't get any luxury with shaving foams so a brush and lather is the way to go. Comes in a nice little box, I also chose the white drip stand. Recommend to anyone wanting a good brush for a low price.

Review: This is a very beautiful razor. Nice weight and well polished. The handle has a very nice feel to it, it is very grippy. Not quite as fast to change blades as a butterfly razor but it is still as easy (I will add I think it is easier to clean due to being able to take it apart easily). Got it for the weekend sale price (with 30 free double edged blades), I think this was a fantastic deal. With 30 blades free I think it has already paid for itself upon delivery compared to expensive cartridge razors. :)

Product: Alum Block
Review: I got this Alum Block when I started shaving with a DE razor and brush. It is so worth it as it stops cuts from bleeding and closes your pores after a nice hot shave. Much better than using small pieces of tissue where its bleeding, this just closes cuts instantly. I've had mine 6 months and I'd say only (if even) 1/3 of it has gone, it's still got lots of life left in it. The little box it comes in is perfect for storing ot and your current DE blade. Strongly recommend this product.

Product: Kent BK4 Silver Tip Badger Shaving Brush (White)
Review: My brush arrived very quickly and I was impressed by the red presentation case. This adds to the quality feel of the product. Initially, I thought that I had made a mistake when lathering as my old brush seemed to produce much more lather. What had happened was that because the tips of the bristles are so soft I had hardly picked up any shave cream at all. With a little more cream loaded it easily out-performed my other brush. This worked extremely well with soap or cream producing a superb lather with hardly any effort.
The brush is very well made and adds a touch of class to the morning shave. I have seen this brush described as "smaller sized" but I can't see that you would need anything bigger.

Review: I am from Germany and use the English shaving products very gladly, since there are not these smells from German production unfortunately. So far I used various shaving creams of Taylor. This time I ordered for the first time a shaving soap of Taylor and am very enthusiastic. The smell is somewhat more reserved than with the shaving creams, but good for me still very. The soap lets itself up-foam very well and the other characteristics pleases me also much. I buy it with security again.

Product: Merkur Vision 2000 Safety Razor with Satin Chrome Finish (Gift Tin and Blades)
Review: This razor has been described as the Porsche of all razors, it is not, it is the Bugatti Veyron of razors!
I had been using a Parker DE razor, with Japanese Feather blades, which is actually quite good, but the Merkur goes to the highest level. Arm the razor with Japanese Feather blades, Proraso shaving cream, you will have the closest shave. it is important to hold the razor lightly and let the blade do the work. It is a bit tricky under the nose so I finish off with the Merkur moustache razor, perfect. As for Shaving Shack, I asked Dan a question, ordered the product delivered next day............perfect.
Review: Tried these after years of using a certain "5 blade brand" OMG they are sharp. Took 2 weeks to get used to how to shave with these and a few cuts as well. But the shave was fantastic. It was slow close that I could easily only have to shave once every 2 days. These are all I use now. A good razor Merkur decent brush and cream and the results are amazing. If you are thinking of going down this route using the above you won't be disappointed!

Review: No doubt a quality brush - these are now made by Vulfix and are different to the original Simpsons brushes.
I found the CH2 too big for me, and it's a bit of a lather hog. You really have to squeeze up the lather from its depths.
It's scrubby when new but really softens up. Great if you like a large, soft brush.
Would be great if Shaving Shack offered this brush in other sizes and grades.

Review: Everything about this soap is just amazing. When you get the hang of the soap/water ratio, this soap really gives a nice lather that makes the shave really smooth and comfortable. Another really important aspect of this soap to me, is that it is very mild and moistures a lot, which makes it perfect for my sensitive skin.
I find that the best way to use this soap is to lather directly onto the face, but lathering in a bowl works as well.
