The handle has a great size and shape to it with a ridge that provides excellent grip. Handmade in England it is densely filled with Best Badger Hair. Established in 1919 Simpson & Co continue to make the world's finest hand made shaving brushes using techniques that have not changed since the firm was founded. Each handle is turned on a lathe, polished and then filled by hand with a "knot" of fine quality selected Chinese badger hair. The hair for each knot is sorted, weighted and tied by a skilled craftsman who then carefully cements the knot into the handle. Each handle is then etched with the name of the brush. Firm enough to make face lathering, but when you got the best is in a bowl. Yesterday It try with Mitchell's Wool Fat and I got one of the best lather that I remember. If you like it, buy it, it's one of the best brushes you will found with this quality at this price (shaving-shack sells it with the best price) Author: Seixi I've got a few Simpson brushes, and this one is one of my favorites. Using it with a good cream or soap it's real luxury! Though you can use it with hard soaps and for face-lathering, you really enjoy it using a bowl and then painting your face with such a soft hair. If you'd like a big brush and intend to use it mainly in a bowl, you can't be wrong with Polo 8. Also, the price at shaving-shack is really a bargain.
