Author: Dan at The Shaving Shack We were excited when we started stocking the Taylor soaps after reading some excellent reviews. We were not disappointed as this is a quality soap that has one of the best sandalwood scents we've had the pleasure of experiencing! The lather produced is rich and creamy and it lasts for absolutely ages. Well worth the money.
Author: Alan Stead Thoroughly recommend this soap. Smooth, rich lather, smells great (as my son commented today, it really smells like soap). When I get a refill for the very attractive bowl, I'm going to try the lavender, though, judging by the economy of use so far, this could be in some time.
Author: Per Jirhem One of the best.Good lather and easy rinse, rather unusual properties. And it does not contain mineral-oil or triethanoleamine either.
Author: F.G.R.X I purchased 2 of these bowl sets one for myself and another for my Grandfather; he has been an avid shaver for many years and I know that he'll appreciate the little bit of luxury these sets provide. Firstly I have to commend the fast delivery that I received and the goods were packaged well. From start to finish the whole product exudes elegance, the neat cream box with classic font labelling is testament to the quality that British manufacturers can produce and this is before you even get to the product! The bowl is a beautiful and simple wood affair and when the lid is removed the piece looks great, the soap is fitted snugly inside and smells amazing, Sandalwood is just one of those classic 'manly' musky smells and the fragrance is beautifully strong; however not suffocating or overpowering at all, it's prominent but light. With the size of the bar I can see it lasting a long time and the fact that the soap sits so snugly means that there isn't an excess amount of water sitting at the bottom of the bowl going stagnant and ruining the bottom of the soap. It lathers brilliantly and created a great thick and very moist lather on the face - I lathered it into the bowl first and then applied, however on a second pass I did lather directly onto the face and it worked equally as well and gave a great shave. It didn't dry out quickly and the remaining lather after shaving was removed quickly without any soapy sliminess nor did it leave that dry pasty feeling that I sometimes experience from soaps. I have very sensitive skin and this felt fine all the way through even after working it on for 2nd/3rd pass. After shaving I put on aftershave balm and moisturiser, this morning I moisturised again and put some aftershave on however I can still smell the scent, albeit very subtly. All in all this soap is fantastic, the product is (in my opinion) a display of how Great Britain can be and proves why we were once world leaders because we created exceptional products and made the effort to produce items of the highest quality without considering the detrimental effect on profit margins, you can tell it's made by people who want to provide a luxurious service. At the end of the day it's an affordable price as it will last a long time, if you want to look after your face and experience a brilliant product with a classic smell then this is the product for you, however if you'd prefer to slop on a slimy 74p gel that smells like radioactive lemons and limes then you'd best look elsewhere.
