How to use a scuttle
Scuttles were introduced in the Victorian era as a way to give hot lather when there was no access to running hot water. Hot water is poured into the spout and the shaving soap is placed in the soap holder which has drainage holes. The brush is then used with the soap to create a lather, with the excess water draining back into the scuttle.
Maxime SALA –
A very nice product, nice shape, nice materiel, very efficient to heat up your brush and to create warm and smooth lather.
Nick Carson –
I’ve read people questioning the relevance of scuttles in the modern era, but to tell you the truth I wouldn’t be without mine! I fill it with boiling water and leave my brush in for a few mins before shaving, it works brilliantly. It’s an essential piece of kit in my shaving routine.
