Simon Gulliver –
Superb blades. Sharp and very smooth. Slice through tough stubble with ease. Probably the most versatile in the range but if you are new to this style of razor I would suggest trying at least one pack of pro guard blades to get use to the technique.
Steve Somers –
Used these blades for the first time in a Feather Artist Club SS razor just over a week ago and, damn they’re good! Very close and smooth shave with minimal irritation (I’ll bet there will be no irritation when I get the correct technique down) – feels more like I’m wiping the bristles off my face. They’re putting my vintage straight razors to shame!
A very light touch is needed with these. I’m up to 4 shaves on the first blade with no problems to report so they’re shaping up to be excellent value for money too.
Mr Simon Daniels –
There is a lot to love about the feather system – straight razor coolness without the need to strop and hone is the obvious but here are two others. Number one is the blade size; for straight razor shaving one could go for a shavette but sometimes the blades a a little small and the edges have a chance to nick. With a standard straight razor the opposite is true – I don’t have three inches of my face that are that flat. Feather blades then are the “goldilocks” blade, not too short, not too long. The second thing to love is the sharpness – no standard straight even comes close. A year and a bit ago I entered this world with pro-guard blades and this year (ten shaves per blade is easy) I tried Feather Professional Blades. They are the sharpest thing that you will ever encounter so beware, but take your time and you will have the elusive best shave ever. I use the Japanese holder and find the lack of a handle in my peripheral vision to be a godsend. Easy five stars
