The shavette is a close relative to the straight razor with the difference being that the blades can be changed, just like a safety razor. I use it to shave my neck area, which is very sensitive to traditional DE razor (I use Merkur 34C), but under mild touches of this shavette my neck goes close shaved and irritation free. Some say that shavettes are a lot less forgiving than the traditional cut-throat razors. Can't argue that since I don't have any experience with straight razors. It very light, but handy enough to keep it angled right. Just a little tip - to loose the fastener cap on top, just push the faux blade a little bit more inside.
