Inspired by the women around them and all they’ve done for breast cancer campaigns in the past, the men in the Leeds office of international law firm Hammonds LLP are growing moustaches for the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health, and to raise funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Having grown and styled the moustaches for judging, the awards for the best moustaches (and worst moustaches) will be handed out at the annual Christmas dinner on December 16 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Leeds.
The Shaving Shack has donated five luxury Bluebeards Revenge shaving cream and brush sets, which will be awarded to the five individuals who raise the most sponsorship for the charity.
Hammonds hopes to raise over £20,000 over this year for Yorkshire Cancer Research, its chosen charity for 2010/2011.
Tom Ward, organiser of the Hammonds “Grow a Mo” event, which has also been sponsored by Men’s Health Magazine as well as The Shaving Shack, said: “We’re really grateful to the guys at The Shaving Shack for donating some great prizes for the charity competition. The buzz around the office has been great… there are guys growing Handlebars to Fu Manchus.
”I’m sure we’ll be sad to shave our moustaches in December, but I’m sure the sadness will be short lived for the lucky five who get to shave off their Mo’s using the Bluebeards Revenge cream and brush sets! Thank you to all the team at The Shaving Shack for getting behind us and Yorkshire Cancer Research.”
