Jennifer Hudson admits she might shave her head
US singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is apparently contemplating a drastic style makeover by shaving off her hair.
The “Dreamgirls” beauty has sported long locks for the last couple of months but she admits she’s looking to revamp her look.
She recently told InStyle Makeover magazine: “I am actually thinking about shaving my head. Because I feel I’ve got a good (bone) structure.”
And Jennifer if you do decide to take the plunge, we would recommend trying the award-winning HeadBlade, as it’s the only razor in the world designed specifically for head shavers!
“What makes the HeadBlade so special is its ergonomic design. It sits in the palm of the hand, the loop rests just in front of the second knuckle on the middle finger, then the index and forefingers sit on the black rubber pads on either side of the loop,” says the manufacturer.
“This gives far more control over the blade than a face razor, thereby reducing the chance of cuts and nicks. By keeping the back pad in contact with the scalp the blade finds it’s own level to enable a smooth glide over the entire head.”
This Morning & Diane Wood promote ‘sexy wet shaving’
It was good to see Diane Wood, King of Shaves Master Barber, promoting wet shaving on today’s This Morning show.
The world of traditional wet shaving has certainly seen something of a resurgence in recent months as more and more men dump their hopeless electric and mach3 razors and replace them with double edge and open razors as they search for that perfect close shave.
The premise of King of Shaves’ ‘Shave Sexy’ campaign is to entice the ladies into shaving their partner in a seductive fashion. Whilst I can’t see this as a practical daily event we certainly like the idea at The Shaving Shack.
And we can’t think of anything sexier than a luxurious and rewarding shave by your partner using our very own Bluebeards Revenge™ luxury shaving cream!
During GMTV’s segment, Diane used two young couples to demonstrate how females can shave sexy and seduce their man.
Interestingly, one of the men in the barber chairs was an active fire fighter, who by the fire fighters own regulations is required to be clean-shaven, as facial hair can interfere with the tight seal needed on their respiratory masks.
This was one of the main reasons why The Bluebeards Revenge™ was formulated with its unique hair-delaying ingredient, Decelerine™.
The Bluebeards Revenge™ can combat tough stubble
This miracle component contains a mixture of active ingredients that specifically combat tough stubble, reducing the frequency of shaving and depilation and at the same time providing a recovering effect on the skin, making it the perfect choice for ‘Real Heroes’ like fire fighters.
We’re also proud to be supporting two fire-fighting charities, Operation Florian and The Fire Fighters Charity, by donating 50p for every pot we sell.
It is with great pleasure that we pledge to donate 50p for every pot of BBR sold divided between Operation Florian and The Fire Fighters Charity.
Diane is one of the few female Master Barbers in the world, and having shaved a host of famous faces including David Letterman, Johnny Vaughan and the entire Wasps rugby team, she is now passing on her skills to teach other women how to ‘sex up’ shaving.
Go girl!!!
Men taking much longer to get ready in morning
The average US man only spends seven minutes less on getting ready in the morning than the average woman, a new study has revealed.
The British male beauty market is worth £920m
A recent survey by GQ and Allure magazines discovered that a man’s beauty routine now takes 22 minutes on average, about two minutes longer than in 2005.
The 2010 Grooming and Beauty Study also revealed the reasons behind the trend, with seven out of 10 men stating that they felt “under more pressure to care about their appearance”.
Eighty per cent of American men said they now felt more comfortable buying grooming products.
According to the survey, men across the pond now spend an average of $121 a year on grooming products, compared to $194 for women.
Desperate move by Asda to halt growing trend towards double edged shaving
It has recently been reported that British supermarket giant Asda is to significantly reduce the cost of its Gillette razors by up to 40 percent.
And while this is an admirable move at last for those who use the brand’s shaving products, especially when you think of how cheap it is to actually make these blades, the fact still remains that razors which utilise disposable cartridges such as Mach 3 and Fusion still do not provide value for money for the country’s men.
The company has decided to finally act against widespread anger from guys who have been complaining about the cost of shaving products over the past few years. Therefore, it is no surprise then that many of these men are turning back towards retro wet shaving products like double edged razors.
Even though the cost of replacement cartridges may be dropping, by over a third, by at least one supermarket, the truth is, Gillette razor blades will still end up being more costly in the long run. As Britain’s men of shaving age are waking up to the thought that double edged razors are not just a traditional shaving product confined to the distant past, but make for a luxurious and much more enjoyable experience, people are growing tired of the gimmick which Gillette started when replacement razors were first introduced.
Marketing can only get you so far, and now men are beginning to take a stand against the rising cost of shaving products from the likes of Gillette and aren’t prepared to shell out a small fortune on blades which only cost about 5 pence to manufacture (with a 4,000 percent mark-up).
They may have been clever in getting top sports stars like Roger Federer and Thierry Henry to promote their shaving products, but this latest move by Asda only goes to show that while the blanket pricing from Gillette may be over, the damage has already been done. For those switching to the affordable yet luxurious world of double edged shaving, all we can do is welcome you to the real men’s club.
The razor blade proves it still has the edge
A few recent articles to come out of North America seem to suggest that the future for razor blades may not be all that rosy. They seem to base their argument on the fact that facial hair is “in” at the moment, by referring to stars such as David Beckham as a prime example. Well, wet shavers needn’t worry.
The future of wet shaving is very sharp
Current trends always go through phases: that much is true. And even if some men choose to maintain scruff to keep up their appearance, studies still show that the majority of women prefer men who keep themselves clean shaven. Plus, the health benefits to men who shave far outweigh any negative points that may arise. Germs can easily multiply in unshaven facial hair, which is harder to keep clean and will generate odour.
Those who work in business will know the importance of making a good first impression when meeting customers and potential clients. A sleek, smooth look can only be achieved by sporting a freshly-shaven face. But this is not the only area of life where a clean shave projects the required image that demands respect.
The main thing about shaving though is down to how you approach the process and the quality of the products you buy. In fact, once men get into the habit of shaving and preparing for this daily activity, it can actually become more of a pleasure, something that is looked forward to rather than just another hassle of life. It can allow you to always feel at your best, every day.
You just need to ensure that you have all you need to make the experience an enjoyable one. There are so many aspects to achieving a close and comfortable shave and with products available that have been made especially for those with sensitive skin, every individual is catered for. If you are not satisfied with your current razor then why not try a new one?
Shaving has certainly moved with the times and if you take a quick look online you will be able to see the amount of web space devoted to the subject. You will also be able to find the best online retailers that have modern-looking, easy to use websites, with a strong presence on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. You can now get affordable razors that will do the job and leave you feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead.
Clean shaving will always be the preferred option for the majority men, but it is the way you look at it that determines whether it is a daily chore or something you approach with a smile on your face.
Men obsessed with personal grooming
A recent survey has found that men in the UK are obsessed with personal grooming.
A quarter of British males spend as much on their looks as their partners, the survey by shaving company Gillette revealed.
And almost half of those asked would forfeit a night in the pub to afford their beauty regime.
Mike Shallcross, deputy editor of Men’s Health magazine, told the Daily Express newspaper: “The findings are further proof that British blokes have moved on from the old lager lout stereotype.”
The British male beauty market was worth a whopping £920m in 2009.
Well-groomed men get more bedroom action, study finds
Men, get out your razors and quick. A new study has revealed men who shave regularly have twice as much sex as those that don’t.
Well-groomed males have more sex
The survey, conducted for Milford-based razor maker Schick by US market research company StrategyOne, found that men who shave at least five times a week are having sex 15.5 times per month, compared to 7.8 times for unshaven men.
The latest study also reveals that well-groomed males are also happier with life, more outgoing and sociable and much more likely to report living their dreams.
According to the survey, men who shave five times a week are twice as likely to have a job as those who shave twice a week, and far less likely to live with their parents.
Three-quarters of women also agree that a cleanly-shaven man is more of a turn-on because they see such men as having a higher self-awareness, deeper commitment and greater comfort with themselves.
