Author: Dan from The Shaving Shack I've been using these for a couple of weeks now in my Merkur Progress 570 and am delighted to say that they certainly live up to their reputation! In my opinion they are as sharp as our Israeli Made blades but the shave is quite a bit smoother. I can also squeeze an extra one or two days worth of shaving out of them, which makes them extremely good value for money. Overall, very impressed.
Author: Mark Woodcock Very smooth, sharp blades, I used one in my Merkur Vision and it lasted a week with no irritation. Very good price and free postage too.
Author: William Wood I have tried 3 sets of blades in my time using a safety razor; Israeli blades, some Merkur blades that came with my 38c and the derby blades.
I find these blades to be my favorite of the three. The Israeli blades are good but I find these ones give me practically zero irritation while I still get a little with the Israeli blades. Great value for money and highly recommended!
Author: Glenn Roberts Having just purchased my first Merkur DE razor, I purposely purchased 2 additional brands of blade (in addition to those that came free with the razor) to see which come up best for me. These certainly do the job, and the cost is very reasonable. I prefer the Israeli blades, but only marginally better.
Author: Jakob Elbk Egegaard Pedersen These are my to-go-to blades. I have only Merkur Platinum, Shaving Shack blades and Gillette Platinum (Swedes) to compare them with; they are similar to the Merkurs, but gives me much less irritation. Having rather sensitive skin a sharp blade like the Gillettes and a "rough" blade like the Merkur doesn't work for me - but the Derby's do.
As stated; these are my to-go-to blades - and I believe they will continue being that. Everyone should sample a pack of these blades at least once.
Author: Graeme Couttie Great value for money! Smooth shave and longevity. I have a fairly heavy beard and use pre-shave oil and Taylors Shave Cream to try and smooth the way. I found Merkur, Israeli and Wiklinson Sword all pulled a bit despite my preparation. The Derby's do not! A lot smoother with less irritation. I use these in both my Futur and 1904. I have ordered some Feathers from Dan to try but they are going to have to be good to oust the Derby from being my blade of choice!
Author: Patrick A.K. This blades should be considered the standard when shaving.
I have yet to try many other blades but as a newbie I first was afraid that they wouldn't be my thing, but I was wrong.
Not only are they great and offer a good, smooth shave but are also cheap and last up to four shaves.
On the negative side I found that they could be a bit sharper, but I guess that there are people who like them as they are.
My tip is that you place them on a paper napkin to air dry after each use, this will increase the longliveness of the blade.
