The sharpest razors we've ever seen!
Much more than your average shavette! Made in Japan by Feather, this "No Sharpen" straight razor uses replaceable blades that will produce a shave closer than anything else out there. As with a shavette, this razor cuts out the need for the stropping and honing that is normally associated with straight razor use. However, using any one of the four replaceable blade types available, it will actually cut better than most of the sharpest straight razors around...there's sharp and then there's Feather professional sharp! We're not joking either, it really does needed to be handled with care but the reward is worth it.
The satin stainless steel blade holder is precision engineered and blade changing is easy with the replaceable blades which cleverly avoids handling the blade itself using the dispenser to safely insert it into the blade holder.
The handle is super engineered plastic designed to withstand temperatures of 135 C so you can boil it in water for hygiene purposes. Combined with the easy dissassembly, it really is a breeze to keep the whole razor clean.
The average blade life is 5-10 shaves making it economical too.
Have any burning questions you would like ask our wet shaving expert Aaron Wolfenbarger? Is shaving lather really important? Should I shave with or against the grain? What causes razor bumps and how can I get rid of them? Feel free to ask any pressing question you want answering.
Author: Ciaran Hogan (yogimoto@hotmail.co.uk) After recently having to replace my previous Feather artist club and dealing with Dan at the Shaving Shack, the item was delivered quickly with excellent customer service. The razor itself is beautifully engineered and the materials used are of an exceptional quality. The blades are easy to load but beware as feather blades are formidable and ridiculously sharp, I would recommend anyone new to feather artist razors should try the pro-guard blades before using the regular professional blades. The razor itself holds quite a weight but is by no means cumbersome. I thoroughly recommend this razor; ok so you do pay a premium for the razor but it will be with you for life because of exceptional quality of the materials used and the fantastic engineering put into the design of this razor. All in all 10/10 and worth the money.
