Two products stocked by The Shaving Shack have been shortlisted for coveted FHM male grooming awards.
Both products were selected from hundreds of entries by a group of leading men’s grooming experts, the magazine said.
FHM is a mainstream men’s lifestyle magazine and because of this generally only shortlists products that are stocked in supermarkets or Boots.
This makes the Scimitar’s achievement even more impressive, and hopefully represents a change in attitudes in the wet shaving market. Many men we talk to are fed up to the back teeth with the rising cost of cartridge razor blades and the fact they give a pretty poor shave.
The ‘Scimitar’ is up against the Gilette Fusion ProGlide, Superdrug Triple Blade Razor and Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Power Select razor.

We are delighted to announce that we have added two new exciting products to our free gift selection.
The Bluebeards Revenge Post Shave Balm Sample (20ml) and Shave Cream Sample (20ml) can now be added at checkout.
Both products are designed for men with tough stubble and who suffer from painful shaving problems such as razor burn, lumps and rash.
They both contain the miracle component Decelerine, which contains a mixture of active ingredients that delay hair growth, reducing the frequency of shaving and depilation and at the same time providing a recovering effect on the skin.
Our customers tell us that using The Bluebeards Revenge virtually eradicates shaving rash, burn and those uncomfortable lumps and bumps.
So if you are a masochist and love a bit of pain first thing in the morning then you should not use The Bluebeards Revenge, as it will give you a clean, smooth, painless shave.
Both the shave cream and post shave balm have a retail value of £2.99 and will provide enough for a week’s worth of great shaving.
We also offer a number of different brands of double edge razor blades as free gifts – including Shark, Feather, Derby, Wilkinson Sword, Astra and Lord.
Simply add £9.99 worth of product to your basket and select your chosen free gift at checkout…happy shaving!

Men all around the world, including England batsman Kevin Pietersen, Stoke City defender Robert Huth and rugby star Sacha Harding, are growing a moustache or “Mo” for the Movember campaign.
The movement sees men start November clean-shaven and grow a “Mo” as a hairy ribbon, raising awareness of men’s health and prostate cancer.
Here at The Shaving Shack, we’re giving away a luxurious Bluebeards Revenge shaving set to the man who grows the most creative and interesting moustache.
So far we have had hundreds of interesting entries, some good and some not so good.
To be eligible for the prize, Movember supporters should simply email a picture of their new facial hair to email@example.com. The winner will be chosen at the start of December. We will also be posting a selection of the best weekly Mo pics on our Facebook page – http://www.facebook.com/theshavingshack – this blog and twitter feed. So lads, what are you waiting for? Start growing that Mo!!!
Last year’s Movember campaign raised a whopping £26m globally to help fight for prostate cancer.
Moustache novices and experts alike, here are some moustache tips from Ape to Gentleman to make this Movember the most Stache-tacular one yet.
Inspired by the women around them and all they’ve done for breast cancer campaigns in the past, the men in the Leeds office of international law firm Hammonds LLP are growing moustaches for the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health, and to raise funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Having grown and styled the moustaches for judging, the awards for the best moustaches (and worst moustaches) will be handed out at the annual Christmas dinner on December 16 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Leeds.
The Shaving Shack has donated five luxury Bluebeards Revenge shaving cream and brush sets, which will be awarded to the five individuals who raise the most sponsorship for the charity.
Hammonds hopes to raise over £20,000 over this year for Yorkshire Cancer Research, its chosen charity for 2010/2011.
Tom Ward, organiser of the Hammonds “Grow a Mo” event, which has also been sponsored by Men’s Health Magazine as well as The Shaving Shack, said: “We’re really grateful to the guys at The Shaving Shack for donating some great prizes for the charity competition. The buzz around the office has been great… there are guys growing Handlebars to Fu Manchus.
”I’m sure we’ll be sad to shave our moustaches in December, but I’m sure the sadness will be short lived for the lucky five who get to shave off their Mo’s using the Bluebeards Revenge cream and brush sets! Thank you to all the team at The Shaving Shack for getting behind us and Yorkshire Cancer Research.”

The Shaving Shack website has been given a glowing review by a leading British Internet magazine.
Web User magazine scored www.shaving-shack.com an impressive four out of five points in ‘Issue 239 – 6 May 2010’.
“From badger-hair brushes to cut-throat razors, this re-launched online store has everything the discerning gentleman needs to ensure a smooth shave,” the review read.
It added: “You can even buy ‘something for the weekend’ and get tips on painless whisker removal.
”Despite its traditional wares, the site has a friendly, modern feel that makes effective use of social-media elements in, for example, product-demonstration videos.
“A blog and Twitter feed deliver updates from the shaving world and you can get 10 per cent off your next purchase if you sign up for the newsletter.
”Most importantly, the smart design makes it easy to browse hundreds of products, and you can read and write reviews.”
Shaving Shack web manager Nick Gibbens, who oversaw the recent redesign of the website, said he was delighted with the review.
“We built the new website with the customer journey at the heart. Web User’s review shows we have achieved our main goal and this is of course reassuring.
“Our new site is wider, innovative and user-friendly, and really serves as a model for what savvy consumers expect when they shop on online.
“Our previous website was a little outdated, and did not completely serve the purpose of informing our customers about the extensive range of products we sell.”
Web User is the UK’s best-selling Internet magazine – on sale every fortnight. The publication offers UK consumers simple-to-follow Internet and computing advice that is accessible, inspiring and useful.
