Bluebeards Revenge praised for consistency, smell and performance
The Bluebeards Revenge™ has been given a glowing review by a leading beauty blog.
LondonMakeUpGirl.com praised the luxurious shaving cream for its consistency, smell and performance.
“The cream itself is thick, pearl-scent and rich and is easy to work into thick stubble,” said the reviewer, who had previously used Kiehl’s Blue Eagle Shaving Cream until they stopped selling the cream in tubs in the UK.
“The packaging suggests that, for best results, it be applied with a shaving brush. I’ve never owned a shaving brush – I share a bathroom with an eminent beauty blogger, I think myself lucky to still have space for a toothbrush – so I applied it by hand.

“Admittedly, I’ve no experience of brushing to compare it with but I felt that massaging it in by hand was perfectly satisfactory.”
He added: “The cream has a more ‘muscular’ scent than what I’ve become used to but I’ve grown rather fond of it. The richness of the cream made for a very comfortable shave and I’ve had no problems with it in the three weeks or so that I’ve been using it.
“Clearly, that isn’t enough time to judge the ‘reduction in beard growth’ claim but it has been long enough to persuade me to switch brands from Kiehl’s.”

Bluebeards Revenge described as one of best shaving creams ever!
We recently sent Mike Sandoval, from Shaving101.com, tubs of Coate’s Special Edition Tea Tree and Rosemary Shaving Cream and The Bluebeards Revenge™.
Whilst Mike jumped at the chance to review Coate’s quality shaving cream, he was slightly less excited about trying The Bluebeards Revenge™.
“I prefer more traditional products and I was hesitant to try a cream that contains an ingredient that affects hair growth,” said Mike.

“One day a box arrived at my house with a tub of the new shaving cream, so I tried to pawn it off on Isaac to write this review, but he didn’t want to use it either. I didn’t want to look like a ‘bum fluff brigade member’ to Nick (Shaving Shack’s website manager), so I gave it a try.”
And Mike was full of praise for our flagship shaving cream, describing it as one of the best shaving creams he has ever used.
“The shaving cream itself is very dense, but it is easy to work with,” he explained.
“An almond-sized amount immediately whips into a thick lather with no bubbles in it. Bluebeards’ lather is very dense – like marshmallow cream, the perfect lather because the richer the cream the more it protects your skin during your shave.
“This formulation creates the lather that all other shaving creams should aspire to create. It’s the trifecta of a perfect lather: rich, thick, and protective.”
The US wet shaving guru added: “With some creams that don’t provide good protection, the blade can skip on your skin or make it difficult to shave against the grain, especially at the lower neck or jawline. The Bluebeards Revenge™ lather is very lubricating and allows the blade to glide along the skin smoothly. The richness of the cream coats the face without being too thick to clog the razor or too thin to run off.
”It’s especially good for straight razor shaving for two reasons: (1) the thick lather creates good lubrication for the blade, and (2) the lather stays on your face without dripping off even when taking a little more time with a straight razor.”
Mike then went on to praise the cream’s signature and unique scent, describing it as “fresh, clean scent that is very pleasant on the face”.
He added: ”It’s a traditional barbershop-style fragrance that is noticeable, but enjoyable. After the shave, the cream rinses off the face very easily leaving the skin well nourished and conditioned. This cream will be especially enjoyed by men who don’t like to use aftershave or moisturizer because it won’t leave the skin feeling dry.”
Mike also offered an apology to Nick for avoiding his requests to try The Bluebeards Revenge™ (which he has accepted by the way
).
He concluded by saying: “Although I was apprehensive, I’m grateful that Nick encouraged me to try it. I can’t speak to the product’s claim to reducing hair growth because I haven’t used it for very long; however, the product smells nice, works exceptionally well, and looks cool, too. The thick and rich lather is perfect for both double-edge and straight razor shaving. The Bluebeards Revenge™ is without a doubt one of the best shaving creams I have ever used.”
Praise indeed Mike.

Meet the 8 manliest men in the UK- And vote for your favourite
Last weekend the Daily Express published a photofit of what the manliest man in the UK should look like.
He would have George Clooney’s silvery hair, the piercing eyes of Gerard Butler, the nose of Brad Pitt, the strong jawline of Jason Statham and the body of Daniel Craig.
The Bluebeards Revenge™ dubbed the composite heartthrob “Bradiel Buthney” – a combination of all their names – and asked the Daily Express to hunt down this masculine man.
Over the past few days, hundreds of British men have sent in their photos.
The Bluebeards team short-listed the top eight candidates and asked them to take part in a photo shoot in Hampshire.
And today the Daily Express, one of the world’s leading newspapers, exclusively revealed who these masculine men were.
Chris Brain
Sacha Harding
Elliot Stevens
Paul Hunter
Oliver Gwyn Jones
Simon Thorne
Ken Townsend
Craig Stevenson
We are now asking the British public to help us crown which man in the most masculine by voting for their favourite alpha male.
And the man with the most votes will become the face and stubble of The Bluebeards Revenge™.
Bluebeards head product tester, Tom Truman, himself a real life ‘Blue Beard’, said: “The Bluebeards Revenge™ is for men with heavy stubble, so we want the most manly looking man to be the face of our brand.
“He’ll take part in photoshoots, TV ads, and will shave in a host of extreme masculine locations, including a lion’s den and while skydiving, so we’re hoping our British Bradiel is up for a unique challenge.”

Bluebeards Revenge rated as one of best shaving creams ever
Two respected wet shaving experts have described The Bluebeards Revenge™ as one of finest shaving creams they have ever shaved with.
Jeremy, from Punk Rock Shaving, was full of love for the world’s manliest shaving cream, praising its packaging, consistency, lather, smell, feel and overall performance.
And Jim O’Connell, from GlamMan, was also full of prise for the cream; especially the light-hearted and humorous approach is uses.
“The consistency of the cream is just about perfect, solid enough to hold up while being scooped but also soft enough to be scoopable and turned into a lather rapidly. The scent was very classic and not overbearing at all,” said Jeremy.
He added: “I scooped out a small amount (about the size of an almond) and built a lather with my trusty Badger and Blade Essential brush. It was at this point that I was really impressed by the cream – it lathered like a monster, and was very forgiving of the amount of water used. It had a wide ‘sweet spot’. I added water until the cream broke down a bit, and then started over with a clean mug. I made a killer lather with no real effort.”
Jeremy, who admitted that he had fairly sensitive skin, said he thought the cream felt excellent on his face, adding that he suffered no irritation for any of the passes.
The shaving guru went on to say: “It softened the beard quite adequately and the lubrication of the razor was just fine. I felt no dragging.
“On the whole the cream’s performance was at or above any other cream I’ve favoured, and maybe even rivals some soaps in terms of protection.
”After a good 3 pass shave, I pulled a fourth just to see how well the cream could handle being pushed to that limit of protection and lather stability, and came away absolutely satisfied.
”I felt that it was a bit drying on the first shave, but later shaves proved that to be a fluke (possibly due to the extra pass). It left my skin nice and clean feeling, without excessive dryness at all.”
Jermey concluded his review by saying: “In terms of quality, performance, and overall satisfaction, this cream rates as highly as any I’ve used from any of the ‘big houses’.”
According to Jim, The Bluebeards Revenge™ is “hands-down one of the best shave creams” on the market.
He said it scored highly for its texture, glide, and bonus points for its clean, attractive scent and tongue-in-cheek packaging.
”But don’t let the packaging fool you. The Bluebeards Revenge™ is a serious high-quality, paraben free, tough on stubble shave cream,” he concluded.
Which celebrity is ‘man’ enough to shave with The Bluebeards Revenge? You decide
Last week, The Bluebeards Revenge team sent a tub of The Bluebeards Revenge™ to Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg.
News of this quickly spread to online forums, Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites, including a thread on popular wet shaving forum The Shaving Room.
And speculation is now mounting about which celebrity will next receive a tub of the manliest shaving cream through their letterbox.
Suggestions have included former Cuban president Fidel Castro, former British and Commonwealth shot-put champion Geoff Capes and Huey Morgan, the front man of the British-based, of New York origin, rock/hip hop group Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
But do you think is manly enough to shave with the beard reducing cream? The guys and girls at The Bluebeards Revenge would love to hear your suggestions, and will send the one with the most mentions a tub of luxury shaving cream.
To take part, simply click here and leave a comment on the article, email nick@bluebeards-revenge.co.uk or post a Tweet on Twitter with @thebluebeards.
And the person with the best suggestion will also win a tub of The Bluebeards Revenge™.
So what are you waiting for?
Flagship shaving cream praised for amazing lather
A leading US wet shaving guru has described the lather produced by The Bluebeards Revenge™, our flagship shaving cream, as one of the best he has ever seen.
Harold Charvat, from popular wet shaving blog Wet-Shavers.com, also praised the luxurious cream for its ability to provide “close irritation-free shaves”.
“This cream made lather like you wouldn’t believe,” said a delighted Harold. “It reminded me of those snake fireworks, you know the kind where you start with a little lump and the snake just keeps growing and growing? I had to offload excess lather into the mug while I was mixing on my face.”
He added: “And the lather is thick. This isn’t foam. It’s a creamy, cushiony, dense lather that lasts a long time. I would recommend this to straight (cutthroat) razor guys, who are always looking for good cushion. For shaving, I mean. I’ve used The Bluebeards Revenge™ with both a Tuckaway razor with an Israeli/Crystal blade, and a Red Tip with a Feather. I got outstanding, close irritation-free shaves with both set-ups.”
Harold also stressed how cost effective the shaving cream is. “Don’t object to the price, because it doesn’t take much product to get the lather blooming,” he explained. “If your beard growth slows as a result of committed use, hey, it’s all to the good. You’ll save even more.”
He concluded his review by saying: “The Bluebeards Revenge™ is a dense, thick shaving cream that produces one of the best lathers I’ve ever shaved with.”
