Meet the 8 manliest men in the UK- And vote for your favourite
Last weekend the Daily Express published a photofit of what the manliest man in the UK should look like.
He would have George Clooney’s silvery hair, the piercing eyes of Gerard Butler, the nose of Brad Pitt, the strong jawline of Jason Statham and the body of Daniel Craig.
The Bluebeards Revenge™ dubbed the composite heartthrob “Bradiel Buthney” – a combination of all their names – and asked the Daily Express to hunt down this masculine man.
Over the past few days, hundreds of British men have sent in their photos.
The Bluebeards team short-listed the top eight candidates and asked them to take part in a photo shoot in Hampshire.
And today the Daily Express, one of the world’s leading newspapers, exclusively revealed who these masculine men were.

We are now asking the British public to help us crown which man in the most masculine by voting for their favourite alpha male.
And the man with the most votes will become the face and stubble of The Bluebeards Revenge™.
Bluebeards head product tester, Tom Truman, himself a real life ‘Blue Beard’, said: “The Bluebeards Revenge™ is for men with heavy stubble, so we want the most manly looking man to be the face of our brand.
“He’ll take part in photoshoots, TV ads, and will shave in a host of extreme masculine locations, including a lion’s den and while skydiving, so we’re hoping our British Bradiel is up for a unique challenge.”

Choosing an effective shaving cream (Part 2)
In the last article we set the scene where a man may not know where to start when it comes to selecting an appropriate shaving cream that will work in tandem with his skin.
Finding the right one for you is not always that simple, and so it is worth considering what you want and need before scouring the market for suitable wet shaving products.
For those that have particularly sensitive skin, it is necessary to consider shaving creams that offer moisturising properties as one of its benefits.
Even if you do not have skin which is sensitive, these products can still offer a close and smooth shave when you use a quality razor blade. You can also look out for shaving creams which contain fewer chemicals and ingredients which may cause reactions in some people.
If you want to get excellent results from your shaving experience some of the luxury shaving creams on the market are really effective as they can be used to create a rich creamy fragranced lather.
When you have decided on the things you want from the shaving cream, it then comes down to products and ultimately the brand. While it may be the safe option to go with a recognised global brand such as Gillette, you may find that some of the smaller – yet still well-established – brands like Cyril Salter, Taylor of Old Bond Street and DR Harris are certainly worth a look as their shaving creams come highly recommended by experienced wet shavers.
Choosing an effective shaving cream (Part 1)
The trick when looking for a shaving cream to use in your daily wet shaving routine is to find a product that will work well with your skin. This formula may not be as easy as it sounds though, as a person’s face is individual to them and so what works great for one man may not be suitable for another.
We will now be looking at how best to go about finding a shaving cream that proves to be effective and makes the whole wet shaving process much more pleasurable and enjoyable, leaving your skin feeling fresh and looking good too.
With so much choice on the market, it is hard to identify a suitable men’s shaving cream without a bit of old-fashioned trial and error. However, this can cost money – and a lot of it too – so it is certainly worth narrowing it down a little first before taking the plunge.
Instead of going into things blindly, trying out every product under the sun, the following is what you should look out for.
Firstly, it is recommended that those with sensitive skin should opt for a moisturising shaving cream. This is also a major pointer for those who struggle with razor burn as keeping the skin moist when wet shaving is essential.
No matter what products you eventually decide to go with, don’t ever give in to the temptation to just use regular soap. This is a big no-no as it will only dry out your skin even more, unless it is a specialist shaving soap, and will most definitely not result in a closer shave.
We will publish part 2 on Tuesday, so please check back.
Bluebeards Revenge rated as one of best shaving creams ever
Two respected wet shaving experts have described The Bluebeards Revenge™ as one of finest shaving creams they have ever shaved with.
Jeremy, from Punk Rock Shaving, was full of love for the world’s manliest shaving cream, praising its packaging, consistency, lather, smell, feel and overall performance.
And Jim O’Connell, from GlamMan, was also full of prise for the cream; especially the light-hearted and humorous approach is uses.
“The consistency of the cream is just about perfect, solid enough to hold up while being scooped but also soft enough to be scoopable and turned into a lather rapidly. The scent was very classic and not overbearing at all,” said Jeremy.
He added: “I scooped out a small amount (about the size of an almond) and built a lather with my trusty Badger and Blade Essential brush. It was at this point that I was really impressed by the cream – it lathered like a monster, and was very forgiving of the amount of water used. It had a wide ‘sweet spot’. I added water until the cream broke down a bit, and then started over with a clean mug. I made a killer lather with no real effort.”
Jeremy, who admitted that he had fairly sensitive skin, said he thought the cream felt excellent on his face, adding that he suffered no irritation for any of the passes.
The shaving guru went on to say: “It softened the beard quite adequately and the lubrication of the razor was just fine. I felt no dragging.
“On the whole the cream’s performance was at or above any other cream I’ve favoured, and maybe even rivals some soaps in terms of protection.
”After a good 3 pass shave, I pulled a fourth just to see how well the cream could handle being pushed to that limit of protection and lather stability, and came away absolutely satisfied.
”I felt that it was a bit drying on the first shave, but later shaves proved that to be a fluke (possibly due to the extra pass). It left my skin nice and clean feeling, without excessive dryness at all.”
Jermey concluded his review by saying: “In terms of quality, performance, and overall satisfaction, this cream rates as highly as any I’ve used from any of the ‘big houses’.”
According to Jim, The Bluebeards Revenge™ is “hands-down one of the best shave creams” on the market.
He said it scored highly for its texture, glide, and bonus points for its clean, attractive scent and tongue-in-cheek packaging.
”But don’t let the packaging fool you. The Bluebeards Revenge™ is a serious high-quality, paraben free, tough on stubble shave cream,” he concluded.
Which celebrity is ‘man’ enough to shave with The Bluebeards Revenge? You decide
Last week, The Bluebeards Revenge team sent a tub of The Bluebeards Revenge™ to Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg.
News of this quickly spread to online forums, Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites, including a thread on popular wet shaving forum The Shaving Room.
And speculation is now mounting about which celebrity will next receive a tub of the manliest shaving cream through their letterbox.
Suggestions have included former Cuban president Fidel Castro, former British and Commonwealth shot-put champion Geoff Capes and Huey Morgan, the front man of the British-based, of New York origin, rock/hip hop group Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
But do you think is manly enough to shave with the beard reducing cream? The guys and girls at The Bluebeards Revenge would love to hear your suggestions, and will send the one with the most mentions a tub of luxury shaving cream.
To take part, simply click here and leave a comment on the article, email nick@bluebeards-revenge.co.uk or post a Tweet on Twitter with @thebluebeards.
And the person with the best suggestion will also win a tub of The Bluebeards Revenge™.
So what are you waiting for?
How wet shaving can help to reduce acne
Acne is a common part of growing up, affecting around 96 percent of teenagers, while for many men this skin condition also continues into adulthood. For those who are severely affected, it is unlikely that anything other than medication will be of use in treating acne, but wet shaving can still provide a great way of maintaining healthy skin.
If you manage your skin properly it is only natural that your face will start to look and feel fresh and healthy. The formation of acne, which is the result of blockages in follicles, can be made much worse when skin is left oily and clogged with dead skin cells.
The best way to combat this is to take a more careful approach to wet shaving and develop consistent shaving habits. By taking your time when shaving, by allowing the experience to be more of a pleasure than a chore, you will soon notice the effects of clear and great looking skin.
Another cause of acne on the facial area is razor burn, which can be unsightly in its own right. However, you can help to prevent razor burn as well as acne by shaving every day and in the right way. This will mean that your skin (and facial hair) is much easier to maintain.
So, be sure to leave enough time each day to shave, especially after a shower when the skin is less sensitive. You can do this by getting into good habits using hot water and steam to soften the hairs and by massaging latheronto the face. If you have particularly sensitive skin, this will provide it with the moisture it needs and in doing so, helping to reduce and keep away acne.
Flagship shaving cream praised for amazing lather
A leading US wet shaving guru has described the lather produced by The Bluebeards Revenge™, our flagship shaving cream, as one of the best he has ever seen.
Harold Charvat, from popular wet shaving blog Wet-Shavers.com, also praised the luxurious cream for its ability to provide “close irritation-free shaves”.
“This cream made lather like you wouldn’t believe,” said a delighted Harold. “It reminded me of those snake fireworks, you know the kind where you start with a little lump and the snake just keeps growing and growing? I had to offload excess lather into the mug while I was mixing on my face.”
He added: “And the lather is thick. This isn’t foam. It’s a creamy, cushiony, dense lather that lasts a long time. I would recommend this to straight (cutthroat) razor guys, who are always looking for good cushion. For shaving, I mean. I’ve used The Bluebeards Revenge™ with both a Tuckaway razor with an Israeli/Crystal blade, and a Red Tip with a Feather. I got outstanding, close irritation-free shaves with both set-ups.”
Harold also stressed how cost effective the shaving cream is. “Don’t object to the price, because it doesn’t take much product to get the lather blooming,” he explained. “If your beard growth slows as a result of committed use, hey, it’s all to the good. You’ll save even more.”
He concluded his review by saying: “The Bluebeards Revenge™ is a dense, thick shaving cream that produces one of the best lathers I’ve ever shaved with.”

The shaving brush is certainly back
The recent revival of the shaving brush has gone to show that many men are turning back to wet shaving methods to find the perfect shave. Badger brushes in particular are growing in popularity because of the particular properties which it offers to shavers.
There are many benefits associated with using a shaving brush and a number of these are highlighted below.
When you are getting ready to shave using a cut-throat or straight razor, preparation is the key to everything. If you want to enjoy the experience to the full and get the most from your shaving experience then using a shaving brush is an important part of the process.
Before you begin shaving a shaving brush can be used to apply the lather as it helps to gently exfoliate the skin.
As you massage the face with the brush, this also works to improve the skin circulation and gets you ready for the wet shave, with its luxurious feel.
Another area where a shaving brush proves to be particular useful is in the production of a much richer lather than if you lathered your face by hand.
Finally, the brush can lift and soften the beard hair, making for a better and easier shave.
Overall, if you put your trust in a shaving brush as an important component of your wet shaving experience, you will find that it contributes to a far smoother, closer and more enjoyable shave than ever before.

Nick Clegg sent tub of manliest shaving cream.. Is he man enough to use it?
Our friends at The Bluebeards Revenge have sent Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg a tub of the manliest shaving cream on planet Earth.
But will the Deputy Prime Minister prove he is the UK’s manliest politician by shaving with the luxurious cream?
“The Bluebeards Revenge™ is the most masculine shaving cream on the market for men with really heavy stubble and would certainly help Nick to look even more stylish and manly than he currently does,” said The Bluebeards Revenge.

The Bluebeards Revenge is currently on the hunt to find the world’s manliest man and have even joined forces with The Daily Express to track him down.
The leading British newspaper published a photofit of what this man should look like and it comprises of the wisdom of George Clooney’s silvery hair, the piercing eyes of Gerard Butler, the strong jawline of Jason Statham, the chiseled nose of Brad Pitt and the body of Daniel Craig.
The newspaper has dubbed the composite heartthrob “Bradiel Buthney” – a combination of all their names.
Spokesman for the shaving cream, Tom Truman, told the Express: “The Bluebeards Revenge is for men with heavy stubble, so we want the most manly looking man to be the face of our brand.
“We’ve surveyed the UK to find out the most masculine facial and body features, and put a photofit together. Once the Daily Express finds Bradiel’s British doppelganger, he’ll sign a contract, and be whisked away on an incredible adventure.
“He’ll take part in photoshoots, TV ads, and will shave in a host of extreme masculine locations, including a lion’s den and while skydiving, so we’re hoping our British Bradiel is up for a unique challenge.
“He also needs to be confident, dynamic, caring, honest and chivalrous. If he can chop down trees too, then that’s even better.”
The manhunt is open to any British male over the age of 18 who resembles the photofit (see image below) and is willing to take on the challenge of a lifetime.
IF you think you, or someone you know, looks like Bradiel, then you should email bradiel@bluebeards-revenge.co.uk as soon as possible.
I wonder if Nick Clegg will apply for the role or decide to keep his job in the coalition government, maybe he could combine both! Watch this space.
