Ask Aaron Q/A: Can I re-sharpen double edged blades using the Razorpit
Posted in Ask Aaron Q & A, Double Edge Shaving | Comments (1)
Frank Nugent, from the UK, asks:
“Can I re-sharpen double edged blades on the Razorpit.”
AARON SAYS
“Mr. Nugent,
From what I understand from reading the RazorPit website no. The RazorPit is designed for cartridge razors. Also, since Double Edge razor blades are so much more inexpensive than cartridges I’m not sure it would be worth the expense.
Happy Shaving!
Aaron”

I kind of disagree with Aaron (kind of). Razorpit cannot “resharpen” a blade but it can help keep the blade sharper, longer (at least in my tests). It does work best with cartridge razors but it will work with a DE razor and blade as well–you just need to be very aware of the blade angle on Razorpit, much like on your face. Now, whether its worth the money is a whole other question, particularly with DE blades. As Aaron says DE blades are so cheap compared to cartridges I’m not sure a Razorpit would be worth the money.
